I'm currently running Nexen Winguard Winspike. Drove them on the Coquihalla to Big White, and this was all during the snowstorm last week. Performed great, no issues with them. Definitely worth considering if you're looking for something cheaper.

I'm conflicted between these two tires, we have a 3G TL running the XIce and a 9G Accord running the WS80s in Ontario.

The XIces are noticeable worse in the heavy slush and snow, but the treadlife and refinement are nice. But at the back of mind, I kind of wonder what the point of a snow tire is if it doesn't do that well in the slippery stuff. The WS80s, however, seem to be wearing out in 2-3 seasons.

I'd suggest either the WS80, or the new WinterContact SI - seems like a good blend of what makes the WS80 and XIces good other than the treadlife warranty.

It was nice to have a comfy ride with the softer tire compound compared to some peoples high performance summer/track tires that are really stiff.

Going up to Whistler in a couple weeks, might be the first time to test out my new X-Ice's. Wasting my brand new tread on 8 degrees and rain!

I know it's late in the season but my all seasons took a shit(didn't realize I had a slow leak and my runflat was...run...flat) and I have to get them replaced.

anyways, looks like canadian tire is having a killer sale on xice3

Michelin X-Ice Xi3 Tire | Canadian Tire

just picked up a set of 215/50/17 for $143/tire. That's $50/tire less than costco and some stores actually have stock. not all sizes on sale though, the 235/45/17's were normal price so YMMV

Wow that is a great sale on X-Ice. I got mine through Kal Tire last year for about $175 a tire (similar size to yours) which at the time was a good sale.

Maybe this winter was too mild and snow tire sales aren't what they were thinking.

I listened too hard to people who were all proclaiming this winter to be a bad one, worse than last year. Bought new snow tires. And all we've had were the 2 light dustings.

We got 35cm today lol, only mild for the coast. Anywhere north or east and it's one of the snowiest in a long time.

Snow tires last more than one season. You will be happy you have them next year or even the year after. Just you wait!

I would say they can last several seasons in Vancouver, under the assumption you mount them when the weather is appropriate, and swap them out for appropriate tires when the Spring season hits. Store them properly, and you'll be set for a while. They are worth the investment and peace of mind, and safety alone.

My winters (General Altimax Arctic) lasted a solid eight winters and still had a lot of life before I got rid of them.

Peace of mind is worth the investment (just don't run a set of winters for as long as I did).

I had the Blizzak LM-22 on my E36 M3 and Porsche 996 for over three years, with plenty of tread on them left before I sold them. Mind you, I drove less than 3000KM each season on them, so that would also explain the lifespan of the tires. There are far too many variables that contribute to lifespan of tires in general i.e. age, driving style, mileage, stop'n'go traffic, highway, suspension condition etc.

Anyone interested in a set of brand new winter tires?

Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 215/60/R16

Uncle bought these but ended up trading his car in. Just been sitting in the garage for 2 months. $450.

Looking to get an opinion on the following..

Setup from factory for my RWD vehicle is 255 (R) and 225 (F)

Cousin has an essentially brand new set of Falken Eurowinters that he's offering for free from his old vehicle, but all 4 tires are 245.

Are there any concerns or problems about running them on my car?

Thanks
