Huh, I just realized my Camry also has cross climate 2s. I always thought they were cross climate 1s. I didn’t drive it that much in the snow last year but they ride great normally. Fantastic in the rain too. I’m excited to try them out on the suv.

I'm surprised the CC2 comes in 235/40/18. Might be a nice one tire tire solution for someone who only does occasional spirited driving, but has like a 18x8-9 wheel.

Hakkaboy 09-29-2022 10:26 AM

I thought the knock on CC2 was there wore out pretty fast despite the treadwear rating. Does anyone have any real experience?

They also make a SUV variant called Cross Climate SUV.

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/surve...23#ratingsSort

Tirerack users have it rated as a 9.1 out of 10 on treadwear, 3rd highest rating for grand touring all-season tires.

Are these CC2's all weather or all season, I'm totally confused here.

Looking to purchase them, but like others I'm looking for a one tyre solution that is competent in snow.

2021 GLI, Costco has a size for my vehicle.

All weather. They have the snowflake rating.

From my experience trying to sell them, the rubber is stiffer than say, a Nokian. They might wear a bit faster than your standard all season, but they aren’t butter like the other all weather tires on the market.

I recommended the CC2's to my mom for her MDX.. She just got them put on.

They are very aggressive/loud looking tires.. some will love, others will hate.

In North America they are considered All Weather while in Europe they are considered All Season (the selection of All Weather tire there is much, much deeper than here and it's considered the "normal" tire). Tirerack and other online shops haven't created a separate category for All Weather tires so CC2s and other similar tires are mixed in. To know the diff you have to see if they have the snowflake symbol.

Just had these crossclimate 2's installed on the wife's RX. they ride even nicer than on my ES. Looks mucho aggressive too, now she has fierce tires to match her fierce eye brows. Not sure who did installed it today, maybe even 320i!?!? Johnny boy at the front like the fact that i brought the wheel lock with me instead of making you poor dudes go dig around for it.

QFT :lol

I find myself picking a lot of rocks out of the tread for the crosslimate2. Big rocks making it sound like I have a screw in the tire.

Badhobz 10-06-2022 07:29 PM

Really ? I’ve been driving on them with the ES for over a year and I’ve yet to hear a peep that sounds like a screw or rotational noises.

Hmmm maybe these 20s will capture more rocks

westopher 10-06-2022 08:59 PM

Can we change these S2S tire laws yet? Another year that it's illegal to be driving on your summers in 20 degree weather in October, and probably another year that it's legal to drive on your summers in a blizzard in April. Shift them a goddamn month. Pow days in whistla ended in May mate.

trollface 10-07-2022 09:29 AM

I hate the way those tires look.

Badhobz 10-07-2022 09:41 AM

Its the look of science!!!!

roastpuff 10-07-2022 10:06 AM

This is all I see:

68style 10-07-2022 10:36 AM

Hahaha did you tell her that I said that?

mikemhg 10-07-2022 11:43 AM

I think they look pretty cool :lol

Badhobz 10-07-2022 02:25 PM

looks pretty good on a SUV cuz they look like real all terrain tires. on a camry it looks stupid.

320icar 10-16-2022 09:23 AM

Not affiliated. Hakka r2’s on aftermarket wheels, 5x112 so perfect for the golfs for $380. Code date is older but will still do better than any all season and get you up to cypress no problem

I just did a crap ton of driving on the i5 with the wife’s RX and did the same run with my ES last week for business. Both cars have the cross climate2 and I would say the road noise and isolation is much much better controlled on the RX vs the ES. Partially due to the RX being a lot newer with double panelled glass and heavier insulation but the bigger tires and newer tread is fantastic at handling the broken cement pavement

Either way cross climate 2s are amazing tires.

AzNightmare 10-16-2022 11:44 PM

I've always done the summer/winter tire combo.

But next time around, I may just look into crossclimates for my daily commuter instead, because I'm getting too lazy to keep changing tires every 6 months, and I don't think we really need dedicated winter tires for the light snow we get here.
