^i dont think anyone wants to lose, but with a roster like this and how much of a trainwreck the team is defensively, its really hard to see the team make it to the playoffs.
Its a pretty good draft class with the top 5 picks as well, so might as well just tank for a better player for the future rather than clinging on playoffs hopes/dreams.

1) he fits with our rebuild plan in that he's youthful
2) JB seems to like hometown kids and character guys, and from how Johansen has responded to Torts so far he seems like a character guy

Rj will be too expensive to bring home. Why trade for him when you can sign him as an UFA in 2 years.

Plus, you don't know how good he is. Only one good season so far. Hasn't guaranteed you any scoring yet.

If we do end up getting Matthews, I have to say, Canucks are pretty set in forwards.

Horvat, McCann, Virtanen, Boeser (people are saying watch out for him in the world juniors).
