That was a gutsy win by the canucks tonight. Markstrom played really well, stammer p'wned himself trying to impress his coach on Edler LOL. Good fight by Prust, he has to earn his keeps as a canuck, doesn't seem good at anything else, except episodes of hockey wives of nhl shows.

ffs just tank. deep draft year, and we have ufa's + trade bait. I could accept last year as none of our ufas would of fetched a good pick. but this year if we tank we can get one of Matthews/laine/purv/chych/tkachuk and then still have an extra 1st or 2 from vrbata/hamhuis (even though both suck this year, people will overpay due to their history)

i wouldnt be surprised if we got two 2nd round picks for vrbata and one 2nd round pick for hamhuis.....

Depends on how many injuries and how desperate teams are.

3 second rounders are still better then letting them walk. Also how many 2nd rounders do wehave this year? Say we get three seconds for those two, has it been aannounced which 2nd Columbus is giving us? Also can't remember if we still have our own second. That's a possibility of 5 second rounders, that is some really good trade bait to try and jump up and get other first rounders or trade them for prospects come draft time.

Obviously all speculation and wishful thinking, definitely not counting on the above said.

Keep in mind, outside of the top 5, everyone is saying this year's draft isn't that deep and next year's draft is much deeper.

iirc CBJ has a choice of when they can give the 2nd rounder and its over the next 3 drafts
i doubt they'll be giving this year's away

CBJ can elect to give us their 2016, 2017, or 2018 2nd round pick.

I would hazard a guess it's not going to be the 2016 pick.

hamhuis is still a top 4 d, his play has been hurt by the youth and crap on the team. compared to last year, Coburn, sekera and yandle got a good prospect and a first. franson basically got a first, timonen who played 4min a game got a 2nd and 4th. imo he gets a first easy, esp if salary is retained

vrbata still over .5 pts a game, noted history as a goal scorer. prob biggest suspected name to move at forward since vanek/st.louis. vermette last year got a first and a good d prospect. 2 2nds is meh, think they can get a first there as well
