IF Canucks do end up with the 1st overall pick then you can bet that Crow will be back. He has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave if he gets a job offer in the NHL

Ride Willie till an actual NHL caliber coach becomes available in the summer. Maybe Ken Hitchcock if St Louis bows out early in the playoffs again. Maybe Michel Therrien.

Maybe a Travis Green promotion, but almost don't want to break the chemistry and success at developing players he has had while coaching in the AHL

The problem with your logic here is that neither Vey, Etem, nor Dorsett are generational type talents.

Why do you think the Canucks have been trading and signing Medicine Hat Tigers players? It's because Willie D has been putting in a good word for him. Matthews has had tremendous success playing against men as an 18 year old and you can attribute part of that success to the coaching style of Crow. Crow has lots of faults, but you can't deny that this team just has started to tune out Willie D. His definition of coaching is deploying lines 1 to 4 every night. Doesn't matter if they're home games or away games. His line matching is strictly 1-2-3-4.

Guess i missed that Kris Knoblauch followed Mcdavid to the Edmonton coaching staff, and I don't think any team in the NHL has ever went out and hired a coach specifically because they coached a star/generational player in their draft year.

Matthews was promising before playing overseas, and he has continued his success over there. He doesn't need Crawford, and if it weren't for Matthews no one would be talking about bringing Crawford here.
