If anyone doesnt know BY NOW , contracts are a WASTE OF fucking money.

vancitylove 11-06-2015 04:56 AM

Anyone know of a store that gives out Manitoba numbers?

Thanks

guurl 11-08-2015 11:00 PM

I've been using this plan for about 2/3 months now. I love it! 5 gigs and unlimited everything! I actually like the koodo's app better than fido too. easier to navigate.

None of the koodo stores give out manitoba numbers anymore. I've tried calling around to get the plan for my aunt last week.

4G gets cut off sometimes though and it pisses me off. But i can deal with it lol. its been getting better though

Successfully ported over today. Only downside is that from home in the Lougheed area, I'm only getting one bar on LTE whereas with Fido it was full reception. Reception with Koodo is better in the Killarney area however.

I've been on this plan for over a year now. I love it. Best part is that it's also month to month so I am not locked onto a contract.

You can just open a Manitoba number and get the plan at your local mobile shop and just port it online afterwards. Just make some excuse that you have plans to move to Manitoba in the next couple weeks.

The sales rep don't really care as they just want to make the sale.

You can sign up with a BC number to start, switch to a MB/SK number online, wait for the billing period to restart and switch to the $48 plan and port in your existing number after

knight604 11-09-2015 02:57 PM

Lying to get the plan is worse than using the loophole fyi.

Telus/Koodo only uses 1700/2100 for LTE.

Rogers/Fido uses the same, but has two additional LTE bands with 700 and 2600.

1700/2100 is shit at building penetration since it's a higher frequency (why Wind and Mobilicity suck in concrete areas).

There's a cell tower roughly 5 blocks from my house too which would explain the big difference in reception, lol.

Anyone have issue doing this at all? Do they provide the phone too or just the plan? Been with bell with the 6gb super plan but I want a new one. Best I found was Rogers for 77$/month with 550$ for the phone , where as bell wanted 95$/month and same for the phone

knight604 11-14-2015 01:21 PM

no phone its byod

6793026 11-14-2015 02:57 PM

reception is a factor but seroiusly, it's not a big deal

haulin oats 12-03-2015 04:06 PM

Can you not just order this plan online? and then do all of the changes, and wait for the SIM card to arrive?

FerrariEnzo 12-04-2015 12:36 PM

For kodoo, just buy the sim and tell them you will activate it online..

but i heard kodoo is starting to stop this loophole.. better get it while you still can...

FerrariEnzo 01-04-2016 12:35 PM

I'm not sure if its possible, but it looks like you can order phones off their website now. I haven't actually tried it yet because i dont need a new phone, but i was able to log in to my account and add phone to my cart and apply a tab to the plan. One person on howardforums was able to get a new phone through the website without losing the plan.
