Read the hofo thread, no one has said anything about being moved.

bill cycle ends on 14th, change plan is valid on the 15th according to website

, lets see if it works

Simplex123 07-14-2016 08:50 PM

I signed up today and got a Manitoba number with a $25 plan. My new billing cycle begins on the 23rd. But I realized my current Mobilicity billing cycle ends on the 19th.

If I change my plan and port in tomorrow it should be ok right? Everyone just waits for the first day of the billing cycle so they don't get billed twice? OP on HOFO says they will just adjust for the next month anyways.

Verdasco 07-15-2016 12:59 AM

omg im such a fcking idiot! I forgot to change my number before my billing date (15th of July), now it says I have to wait until the 15th of August to change my plan...... what to do?? fuck haha

can i go to a store and change it to manitoba LUL

no idea what you mean.. but you change your plan first then port your number the next day..

when you signed up for koodo, did you get a MB number?

Lets say I signed up on the 10th, 15th is billing cycle and one plan change is allowed per cycle.

I changed number on the 15th but the website wouldn't allow me to change the plan until the august of 15th because I was dumb to not change to a Manitoba number before the 15th :okay:

FerrariEnzo 07-15-2016 11:09 PM

so you ported your BC number over to koodo first?

Or did you changed to MB number? If your really want it that bad, just pay the fee to change plan... lol its still early inthe billing cycle to still get your money's worth

Do you know what the fee is? I have the MB number but realized I cannot change the plan until new cycle on the 22nd....

Kilinim 07-16-2016 08:28 AM

Just finished the process. Up and running:)

jtanner_ 07-16-2016 09:50 AM

^ Same. Whole process took me about 5 days and was a very simple process. Only had one interaction with Koodo to grab my SIM card and start my initial account the rest as all online.

I'd recommend you guys use a referral link as well if you know someone on Koodo cause you'll both get a $25-50 bill credit if you're new to Koodo.

Kilinim 07-16-2016 01:24 PM

My process was about a week. Overall nice and easy. Good call about the referral deal. Anybody interested, pm me :)

Yeah I called and told them I just got the $25 plan two days ago and asked what I can do if I wanted data and he told me about the 48$ plan and told me it would cost $10. But I acted as if I didn't have a clue what was going on and he said he would just waive it for me!

Ok, let's review this a little, as many are still kinda confused, including me.

1. You sign up for Koodo, get a MB number and a $25 plan.
2. You change your plan to the $48.
3. Port your number over.

Correct?

Am I also reading right that you can just call CSR and ask for the $48 plan if you're already with Koodo, without doing all the MB number and porting?

Doesnt have to be $25.. whatever cheapest.. i think i got $15 or $20...sign up for self serve anytime after you got the plan using the same info you gave
wait until next billing cycle and change plan online
port number over online...

Got this from the HOFO page

Quote:

I am already with Koodo, Is there anything I need to do differently to get this plan?
- If you are a Koodo Post-Paid customer, then yes, you MUST port out to Koodo Prepaid so that you can port it in once you have setup the new plan without having to wait 10+ days (30 days in some cases), if you port to other carrier's as the Koodo system takes time to clear out your # before it allows you to port it back in.

mr_chin 07-20-2016 10:45 AM

Went to Metro and setting up an account with the guy at Koodo was easy. He knew exactly what was up and asked if I want the $48 plan right away.

Now, in self serve, it says I am not authorised to changed my number. Do I have to wait until my billing cycle?

paperclip12 07-21-2016 06:32 PM

Went into Koodo Metrotown just now and they said u need a valid SK/MB address before can get one.

The rep that got me the plan, his name is Brendan. Maybe look for him next time?

EDIT - Hmm, can't people just give fake MB addresses? Since nothing really gets sent to you anyways.

He probably didn't like me then. It was a white guy kind of chubby face. He said they don't get commission and told me to go to the source lol

go to richmond koodo, I went to them and they knew exactly what I was doing. They do get commission and get quota (I worked in mobile sales industry before with big companies). You dont tell them you are getting anything, just say "I want to get the cheapest month to month no contract plan" takes 5 minutes to set up too be honest. They DO NOT say a single word and question you as it is not illegal on you are doing

this is 100% bullshit, head office probably trying to prevent people from getting 48$ plans so do not say this when activating. they do get commission
