Did you setup plug and charge or is that not available for Canadian Solterra/bZ?
you shouldn't need to mess with the app.

When I was talking to the Subie sales dude yesterday, he told me the Solterra is plug-and-play at Tesla chargers. But he said I would have to set up SubaruConnect in order for plug and play to work.

Obviously I would take what the sales dude says with a grain of salt, and I haven't looked into this myself. But potentially, I think it would be worth Badhobz' while to look into it.

This is precisely the issue I am contending with right now. Do I want to spend $50k+ to replace our 10+ and 15+ years old ICE cars with an EV? or should I keep the $15k combined (if I'm being generous) worth of cars and spend that $30k on gas over the next 10 years?

He'll have to do a self-broadcast when he pulls up to a station so we can see the rage fit he has.

Badhobz 03-02-2026 11:33 AM

thats exactly why im not doing any more road trips with the EV. no gracias meng.

when i take my annual norcal / oregon coast trip this year, im going to do it in the ES or the RX, or steal the inlaws SC430 again.

It's an unmistakable expression :lol

(i guess it's less funny when that look is on your own face)

I once pulled up to one that had caution tape all around it LMAO

That said, 2024 EA was like 60% success rate
2025 EA is like 95% now

FWIW within Metro Vancouver, I think Electrify Canada only has a single charging site in Langley.

And then their (charging) chain is at Abbotsford, Hope, Merrit, and Kelowna.

I guess owners are better off relying on other non Electrify Canada chargers?

AstulzerRZD 03-02-2026 12:38 PM

Yeah, EA is more of an american thing (they were forced to build out a bajillion station with VW dieselgate money).

Metro Van's pretty saturated:
Tesla's got a ton of stations that work great (unless you have 800v car like Ioniq / Lucid).
BC Hydro in a lotta spots and they have both NACS and CCS so you don't have to bring adapters.
MB also launching a bunch of stations.

yray 03-02-2026 12:41 PM

^yep, hydro sites popping up like crazy

then u got the crazies that will cut up the wires because fuck EVs

roastpuff 03-02-2026 01:27 PM

BC Hydro charging worked great when I had the Polestar, they just need more stalls.
