since baddyhobz has like 4 clubs in the bag, he just picked the putter for a 160yrd shot. I don't feel one iota of sympathy for him, he's got like 3 other cars that he could have picked for the day trip to Seattle. 1st world problems. Let him keep on using this new e golf cart to commute to work and to Costco. :lol |
of course one can adapt to anything, (like rat did when he took his i3 on a roadtrip and 40 minute charges!!!) but as a cranky old fart who prioritizes convenience and ease, this is the antithesis of that. For majority of the people in the city, i think they would be fine if they can charge at home or take to a charger once a week. The problem only compounds when you take a lousy 450km trip to seattle and you need to deal with that shit 3x. edit: but i can totally see why people gravitate towards these things. In the city you got instant torque, ability to get out of sticky situations with that torque, and little to no consumables to worry about. Tires being the only big item here. No more doing oil changes, fluids, etc. The battery warranty is 10 years so by the time that craps out, your little shit bucket car would have already made back majority of its $ if you drive it everyday. A guy like me would never be able to make back the money as my KM per year probably wont even surpass 10k, but its an interesting experiment nevertheless. I get it, i get why people like them. I also see why no taxi guys use EV's, its not even remotely feasible. |
I’ve seen model Y/BZ official taxis rolling around. Plenty of EV ubers. Think the math works even with the downtime. Plus taxi is mostly city driving where EV reigns supreme. |
uber yes, because they arent constantly having fares, but i never see a yellow cab, or a black top cab with an EV. hybrids reign supreme for traditional taxi guys. |
I think hehe is onto something wrt Tesla vs other EVs. Really feels reminiscent of iPhone vs Android. With an iPhone someone has mapped out a seamless user experience for you from end to end. It's not gonna be the fastest or really best at anything, but it'll just work. Somebody like me has infinite patience to fk around and suffer through broken corner cases on a random EV, but maybe some people just want the iPhone lol |
solterra is NACS? better get that adapter and hope it doesn't catch on fire thats gonna suck balls in van unless you suck elons dick |
This is a very expensive experiment. |
I don't even road trip any more cuz USD and murican, there's no where to go, what's there to buy at Seattle premium outlet? Tulalip is the buffet even worth it now. Isn't it just fent zombies in Seattle Portland? We have that at home. if you go to whistler or island just drive gas and enjoy the road. EV is purely to save $ on dd gas. And the comfort of pre heat, cool, sitting in the traffic with full AC or heat without worrying about getting 20l/100 km on premium gas. |
O yea and aren't you supposed to stop at around 80% anyways cuz the fuller the battery the slower it charges anyways. And where did you go. I think I've gone down to as far as alder wood and only needed like two top ups to get back into Richmond very conservatively then charge back in can in a model 3. |

I especially like how they gave me a So Bat (broom) yes solterra comes with NACS port. no need for adapters when using tesla things. Just the cord for the tesla chargers are short as fuck. Quote:

I just saw this on FB, should have bought Toyota https://lede-admin.racketmn.com/wp-c...170&quality=75 |
LOL! Limit 1 bag per customer. Must mention at time of purchase. :lol |

Even if he tosses this thing off a cliff, isn't he still pocketing $12k/yr?? He could lease two more mistakes, and still come out ahead! |
im saving money by buying this. no longer paying gas as i threw it on the work charger this morning. |
It was more of a cheeky comment than a fact. But let's be honest. How many normal people (I'm not talking about you Revscene losers) get a $1500/month vehicle allowance? Remember - normal personal. Not your average Revscene circle jerker. |

yeah im bit worried about 20 year old cars with poor crumple zones at 30-40k i think hybrid makes a lot of sense, but hell not sure if lazier or older now i dont want to maintain a non-fun car lol if it's gonna see some road trips an EV would need 400km from 80% SoC and widespread 20 min charging to support it (a good balance between restroom and meal breaks) the 6piston brakes are almost wasted in our use case when we almost exclusively use 1-pedal regen |

I now just have to find a legit electrican to do the work. SOme quoted 8000 some quoted 3200 some quoted 2800. All with permit and stuff. Let's see what happens. |

you shouldn't need to mess with the app. |
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0DHR6KZHW?...fed_asin_title https://www.amazon.ca/Lectron-NACS-A...zcF9hdGY&psc=1 got these adapters. havent used them yet, but they look okay. Quote:

Just need to put a DCC/load management system behind the charger, or use a NEMA 14-50 splitter. Total cost should be ~2k. |

plug and charge works on lightning pretty good, 2026 bZ/Solterra supports. |
maybe im doing it wrong. i dont know. but i know that without the app, it'll keep going past 80% and then they'll ding my ass more money. |
since u had the CCS>NACS adapter u can also just use an electrify america station way cheaper (48c/kwh), way longer cables, and no app, just credit card or the car's plug and charge way more stations as well and the 202 outlet one is next to the superchargers https://www.plugshare.com/location/186859 |
Lol we're going to give him hope, only for him to realize that the biggest perk to Electrify America is witnessing that look of fear / rage in somebody else's face, when they pull up to a charger and realize it's broken again. It's an unmistakable expression :lol (i guess it's less funny when that look is on your own face) |
