Only difference being the range... Its kind of hard to find information on this as this car isn't offered in the states so very few reviews on the thing

Mine is indeed the lower spec with less range and power - only 134hp and good for 248km. Torque is the same on both trims at 291 lb-ft. On top of my head other things the Premium is missing include:
  • heat pump
  • sunroof
  • leather seats
  • ventilated front seats
  • heated rear seats
  • rear parcel shelf
  • Harman Kardon sound system
  • heads up display
  • Mood / RGB lighting
  • probably a few other things

Check out the 'Kia Hyundai Channel' on YouTube for more info on Canadian-spec Soul EVs because like you said, there's not a whole lot of info out there. Also happy to show the car in the Vancouver / Richmond area if you're interested.

I forgot but what were the original prices of these models when they first came out? Model3 at one point was cheap enough to take advantage of the EV rebates.

!Aznboi128 03-15-2022 09:30 AM

Model 3 was 45k when it launched
Premium upgrades were 6,600 and long range battery was 11,000

Model y was 69k for AWD, 52k for RWD

Due to inflation of components says Elon. I hope prices drop again when things level off.

Elon Musk after each price increase

It's made in China which I was kind of skeptical about at first but you can definitely tell it's still engineered in Sweden and there's some pretty strict quality control in comparison to a Tesla. My opinions come from driving a dual motor AWD and not the base FWD single motor.

From what I've read and watched, Model 3 has more range and is power powerful but the Polestar 2 was a better all around car.

PM me if you're considering and would like to test drive one :)

I have a close family member who has a model S and I hate sitting in or driving the car. Everything feels uninviting, and cold, and everything feels very hard and plastic. I was thinking about getting a Model 3 a few years ago, but this is what stopped me, I did not feel like paying a premium on a car that I was not going to enjoy sitting in.

It was a combination of being cheaper, and the BC rebate capped at $75k instead of $55k. When BC dropped the cap in 2019, Tesla compensated by dropping the AWD MSRP by $5,000 to $64,900 as well.

lilaznviper 03-15-2022 11:24 AM

at the price range its currently at, the i4 might be a better deal since it should still be able to get the rebates and fit and finish should be a lot better than the model 3

Wait wat.. if i got my model 3 in Oct 2021 (long range - 75k-ish), does that mean i can still qualify for rebate? I didn’t even apply b/c i thought i wouldn’t

No, because the BC rebate cap went down to $55k back in sometime 2019. Before that the cap was $75k.

I just placed a $500 deposit for a Ioniq 5 and estimated wait is 12-18 months :(

Best and quickest way to save $$ with high gas prices is to buy an e bike. Weather is getting better ... if E bike is $2000 and you spend $250/mth on gas ...you could make that back in less than the time that it takes for your EV to be in stock. . And you can get some fitness in at the same time. I don't think you would be much slower than driving ...maybe 10 mins difference on a 30-40 mins commute.

JDMDreams 03-19-2022 08:21 PM

^ I've been wondering where can you park it though without getting stolen. :suspicious:

cafe22 03-19-2022 08:29 PM

I ended up getting a Brompton to bike from Olympic Village to VCC Clark transit out to Coquitlam. That way I can avoid the crowds at Main St station.

I can fold it up and take it with my to transit during peak hours and leave it under my desk for work. There's also a ton of aftermarket parts for the bike so it's my excuse to use that gas savings on parts! :alonehappy:

I think that’s largely because they were expecting it to drive the same way as an ice bmw, which is impossible due to the nature of EVs. They should have strictly compared it to other EVs rather than to what they know/love about bmws.

For a 2023 Lucid Blue LR AWD ultimate package model at Hyundai Richmond. I think the 2022 allocations are all spoken for at this point…

What is your guys thoughts on the I4 M50, thinking of putting a deposit down for a order.

A buddy of mine (who owns a Tesla Model X and a Porsche Taycan) testdrove one a while back, his exact words:

"If you want a good EV, get a Tesla, if you want a good German car, get a Porsche, this is neither."

Would most likely get hit by a car before it would get stolen.
