I honestly see Benning doing that if manages to acquire 3rd lol

But i'd keep 3rd and 5th, there's more flexibility. Hell, if the picks he likes are still available, he could even move down from the 5th to get later picks.

Makar is a pretty interesting prospect. Absolutely tore it up in his league. But how much of that was because he was playing in a relatively weak league? If it's not much, then he'd project to be a franchise offensive dman.

Trading for 3rd or 4th overall this year is like trading for an 11-15 pick most years.

I wouldn't give up Tanev for a maybe prospect.

75 points in 54 games in the AJHL isn't really tearing it up.

Turris put up 121 points in 53 games in the BCHL in his draft year, which is generally considered a slightly stronger league.

Dante Fabbro put up 67 in 45 games in the BCHL in his draft year. He was a 17th overall pick last season (plus a size advantage and a Team Canada representative).

Aside from the top 2, pretty much everyone else who's considered a top 5 pick this year would struggle to make the top 10 last year.

if Canucks could acquire 3rd overall
would you trade 5th and 3rd for 1st?

no. a player like glass seems like he could leap frog both nico and Patrick by next year.
id trade for the 3rd, take glass. see who col takes, and then contemplate moving down for additional picks(especially if you think you can get pettersson at 8)

6o4__boi 06-08-2017 07:52 AM

for a dman i'd consider it tearing it up
but you're right, it is a weaker draft so a lot more hype

guess it's not a bad year to pick so low...but it still sucks to know we had a good shot at top 2 and managed to land 5th

fucking flyers...why can't things like that ever happen to this franchise

TjAlmeida 06-08-2017 08:43 AM

Would rather the draft luck next year then this year. I was against trading tanev, but if we can keep the 5th overall and move tanev for the 3rd over all i would be all for it.

I wasn't so mad that the Canucks got 5th, we had the biggest chance of landing 5th and that's what we got. I'm just more against the way all the percentages are done. Jersey landing #1 ok np, they were only a couple points behind us so they were really equally as horrible but how the hell does Dallas and Philly move that far up it's insane.

Jersey could legitimately use a top prospect because their prospect pool sucks, but Dallas and Philly are both constant playoff teams, so the fact that they land the 2nd and 3rd picks is lame as fuck. You can bet that the only people that weren't upset was Dallas and Philly.

speaking of Jersey, wonder if they'll sign and trade Kovy next season

i could see him going to Vegas :lawl:

its not that bad to be honest. id say nico, partick and glass(altho Im high on glass because he still hasn't finished growing, and is underweight for his size, yet was able to put up the amount of points he did) are like a regular 3rd/4th. theres a couple prospects from 4-10 that would be fine in a top heavy draft with where they will end up. but theres decent value in this draft from 11-30+. its really just missing the generational/very good franchise talent weve seen the last couple drafts so it makes people think its a lot worse than it really is

Faith Hill.............. how old is she?

Not sure how to describe her rendition of the Star Mangled Banner.

Anyway, the cup might be handed out tonight!

Go, Pens, GO!!!!!!!

Actually, I don't care that much about who wins.

Ch28 06-11-2017 06:22 PM

I just want the cup finals to end so the fun off-season can begin.

murd0c 06-11-2017 07:00 PM

the Pens at least deserve it, I can't wait for the draft

MG1 06-11-2017 07:11 PM

LOL. Dipshit, Count Dracula, boo'd................ dude must be hated everywhere he goes.

westopher 06-11-2017 07:56 PM

What an anticlimactic end to the season.

Hondaracer 06-11-2017 08:35 PM

Crosby top 5 all time now? Top 10?

Modern day cups worth a lot more than when you drank a 6 pack and smoked a bunch of darts during the game

dapperfied 06-11-2017 08:51 PM

Was hoping for a game 7, meh.

I think you have to put Crosby in top 5 now, People are saying he's the 3rd best behind Orr and Gretzky

N.V.M. 06-12-2017 04:49 AM

you put Cindy ahead of Messier,Lemieux, Lafleur,Howe ?

Tim Budong 06-12-2017 06:20 AM

I wouldnt argue against having Crosby in the top 3
I mean.. sure only 3 cups, but 2 gold medals, 2 mvps... and other accolades

and one of the smartest players in today's game

whitev70r 06-12-2017 06:37 AM

Going to have to put an * beside this win. Seriously, the no goal call in 1st period was HUGE.
