What's with these 7-0 playoff games.

So far, both teams that won a 7-0 game ended up losing the series.

Edit: nvm I think oilers game was 7-1. My bad.

Too bad it ended in a shootout... 😐

goddamn shootout...
anticlimatic

pastarocket 05-22-2017 04:50 PM

Good start for the Preds. Come on Nashville, roast these Ducks and send Kesler to the golf course! :fuckyea:

Gumby 05-22-2017 05:30 PM

Kessler vs Burrows would be interesting, but that probably won't happen...

dbaz 05-22-2017 06:44 PM

yikes.. 2 games in a row the ducks are absolutely fucked by the refs. last game rinne obviously played the puck in the area hes not allowed to, this game the puck over glass that's not called and then predsd score. 2 automatic calls that weren't called

roastpuff 05-22-2017 06:49 PM

The over glass puck hit the top... So it was just legal. But ouch on pulling the goalie too early.

Ch28 05-22-2017 06:50 PM

Suck it Kesler

Preds score empty net goal and lead 5-3 with 2:22 left in the 3rd

fliptuner 05-22-2017 06:51 PM

So many happy white people.

roastpuff 05-22-2017 06:52 PM

And.... Go Preds!

dapperfied 05-22-2017 06:53 PM

:victory: GO SENS!

HonestTea 05-25-2017 07:53 PM

That was a good game! Sucks for the SENS though

pastarocket 05-25-2017 08:00 PM

What a shot by Kunitz to win the game. -perfect shot over Anderson's shoulder. Two goals tonight. :notbad:

Penguins are gonna smash Nashville, Too much firepower for Rinne and the Preds to contain!
:gun:

Devastator 05-25-2017 08:05 PM

If Burrows was playing he would of scored the OT winner!

Nashville has arguably the best defence at the moment with a well rounded 4 lines. It's going to be a good series. I hope it's a smash fest like the ducks series.

subordinate 05-25-2017 10:43 PM

Man..what an incredible series. I didn't care who won at the end. (I kid. Pengs!)

I'd have to give the next series to predators. I feel like they're like the sens, but with a stronger defensive core.

Tim Budong 05-25-2017 10:50 PM

Don Cherry was gold tonight

anyways sucks.. go preds go

Vancouver, BC - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has signed defenceman Philip Holm to a one-year, entry-level contract. The 6'1", 190-pound defenceman most recently represented Sweden on the international stage at the 2017 World Championship, helping to earn gold for his home country.

"Philip is a mobile, two-way defenceman who adds depth to our blueline," said Benning. "He made strides in his development last season with Vaxjo and played a strong series with Sweden at the World Championships. We're pleased to welcome him to the Canucks organization."

Holm, 25, spent the 2016-17 with the Vaxjo Lakers of the Swedish Hockey League where he posted 21 points (4-17-21) and 30 penalty minutes in 52 games. He was a plus-24 on the season and earned the honours for the 2016-17 best plus/minus in the SHL.

decent addition to depth esp with Tryamkin leaving
but if Vegas picks up Sbisa, all of a sudden the D loses all physicality

Edler-Tanev
Stecher-Gudbranson
Holm-Hutton
Subban

i think it's a stretch to think Juolevi is factoring in this season
guess i can kinda see why Benning isn't so open to trading Edler/Tanev

Ch28 05-26-2017 12:45 PM

Benning went on record to say that they're not actively shopping Tanev, but there has been considerable interest with teams calling to ask about him. It looks like DimJim's hardball tactics during the Hamhuis trade deadline is starting to pay off, as other GMs around the league know that they can't lowball him.

He also said that there's no plans whatsoever to move Edler (mostly cause he won't waive his NTC) and they're looking to re-sign Miller with the hope that Markstrom becomes the new #1 goalie going forward.

I'm totally okay with this plan moving forward. As much as I was against Miller coming to Vancouver in the beginning, his tenacity and hard work has won me over. It will be good to know that our goaltending is going to be taken care of next season, and maybe a second. Then maybe Markstrom and Demko could take over.

have to wonder if the top 3 picks will move in this year's draft

NJD, PHI and DAL all almost-playoff teams that need good pieces that can contribute now.
PHI and DAL in particular really need top pairing dmen.

Look at Nashville's and Pittsburgh's defenses and tell me how physical they are. Effectively moving the puck and taking away time and space is what you need from your defense to put your team in a position to succeed.

Miller just sold his place in Vancouver. I don't think hes coming back.

Hmm..I would place little emphasis on this factor being the tell-all of Miller's playing situation. He wants a starting gig and the Canucks seem to be the only ones willing to offer that to him, and he doesn't want to stray very far from the West coast. I personally, hope he doesn't re-sign with the Canucks, but knowing organization's reluctance to go with Markstrom next year there seems to be a good chance of him coming back.

68style 05-27-2017 11:12 AM

Why do we need to shore up our goaltending anyway? Are we going to win next year? Not a fucking chance.. Is Markstrom ever going to be a legitimate #1 goalie???? Personally I don't think so... just go with Markstrom next year from the getgo instead of coddling him and making his confidence go to shit thinking we always need a crutch for him, develop Demko and see what's up 2 seasons from now.
