Look on the bright side, WD's questionable line combos encourages the much needed tank
What would a new coach do with this team anyways? Fight for a wild card spot and get swept in the first round, or just miss the playoffs? All to end up with a mediocre draft pick.
Here's to WD and the hopeful imminent drop off in the standings
EDIT: Happy 45th Jagr, what a beast... still putting up respectable point totals: (54GP 10G 21A) Career totals: (1,683GP 759G 1,140A) would be much more if he didn't play in the KHL
I'm convinced you need to murder someone on the ice before the NHL gives out 10+ games
or your name is Raffi Torres

He probably would've retired if he hadn't gone to the KHL.
He said going to the K gave him an appreciation for everything he had previously taken for granted in the NHL.

was an assist actually. but cant really say that's it when that's prob the first thing hes done in a month.
they really need to ditch him at the tdl/draft
lol Gaunce goes down for a couple of games and puts up more points than JV in a month.
Brendan fucking Gaunce.
It's not for a lack of opportunities with JV either, kid gets top 6 and top pp unit time with the Comets and still can't put it together.
Side note, it's fucking depressing watching Tkachuk with the Flames. JB has made some solid picks during his tenure but can't help but wonder if Tkachuk will be one of his biggest mistakes at the draft. The kid's got it all and I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a 60-70 pt player in his second year. We probably won't even see Juolevi in a consistent role until after next season or even the season after next.

I dont see Juolevi being close to a stud dman...he reminds me of maata just steady boring ass Fin on the back end. Tkatchuk is going to be a good power forward his skating is shit but cant deny he has a nose for the net. Really wish canucks picked him up like fuck was Benning thinking of picking a dman in the top 5. Like I said before if a dman is going to get drafted that high he better be and ekblad, doughty ect a franchise dman. Don't get me wrong juolevi will be a top 4 but he wont be a number 1 stud.
Writing off an 18 year old Top 5 pick before they have ever played a professional game? You kidding me?
He could end up being a trash player and player in the KHL by the age of 25, OR he could be a franchise d-man. Nobody has any idea at this point. Lets reserve judgement for a few years.
I for one think it was still a solid pick, no matter what Tkachuk does for the Flames. In the end, if Juolevi ends up being a solid PP quarterback and top 2 pairing d-man, Canucks did fine.
Shitty thing is, we can't really know until 3 or so years from now when Juolevi will hopefully be an established dman in our roster.
Hopefully by then, Tkachuk is just a 40 pt 3rd line banger...haha

yea but think of our young stars roster next year. juuolevi, boeser, gaudette, demko, brisebois, Virtanen and a top 5pick. dats like ehrhoff, samuelson, malholtra, schnieder, hamhuis, torres, and maybe kesler. rebuilding the cup run team guys
Canucks will basically wait last minute to determine if they're buyers or sellers at the deadline...we better not start winning any games now.

Don't think canucks will go on a run of wins in the near future! Benning looks like a last minute kind of guy that's for sure. He needs to move Hansen or else he will lose him in the expansion draft for nothing so that's a no brainer, as for burrows just need to move him and get an asset and if he wants to comeback in the summer resign him. No one wants another hamhuis/vrbata debacle again.

The projected cut for the playoffs right now is 90 points and the Canucks will need to go 17-8-0 over their final 25 to get there. On top of that, the Canucks are bottom 10 in every team category except goals against (11th worst) and faceoffs (7th best).
Benning shouldn't need another 5 games of evaluation to know this team isn't going anywhere.
