Every time I go visit my father at Mountain View Cemetery, I drive by this rather large monument (for lack of better word). I stopped to see who's it was. It was momma Aquilini.
Makes sense. They lived in East Van where Franky went to Templeton.
Anyway.................. carry on carrying on.

this team like i said is all smoke and mirrors...they will hover around the playoff bubble and miss it by a couple points and we can blame in on all those shitty loses to devils, carolina, arizona, the 9 game losing streak and then end up with a shitty draft position.
That's what my worry is.
I think Willie is putting out his AHL players because they need the ice time in order to gain the experience of playing in the NHL. It's hard for a coach to think about his future roster positions when you're putting out the veterans and they're winning. But guess what? The veterans are all gone. So what you have left is a core group of about 6 guys, and a whole bunch of youngsters.
Do you think Willie wants to play guys like Chaput, or Biega, or Larson?
I bet WD looks at the Penguins, or the Capitals roster and wishes he had half the depth.
The bottom line is that WD is in a tough position. Ownership wants him to make the playoffs. Half the fans want him to tank, while the other half don't know what they're talking about.
Again, I worry that we're going to miss the playoffs and get stuck with some first round chump who will never amount to anything. Or worse yet, we make the playoffs and get swept by the Ducks in 4. And still get stuck with a first round bust.
Wasn't Willie brought in to develop younger players?
Trust me I question a lot that he does but he has helped with the development of Horvat, Bae, Granlund, Stetcher, Tryamkin..
I've said it time and time again.. At the end of the day it's a business. Aqua man ain't going to allow the Canucks to win 30 games a season so we can get first overall. It's going to be a long as process that isn't going to change so used to it.
So now that we are at the All-Star break, any predictions of where the Canucks finish in the standings? I see them just outside the playoff picture. 83 pts, finishing 3 pts out of a wild card spot. Perfect for a #13 or #14 pick in the draft.

I know Aqua is a successful business man I mean how am I to argue, he's the one with hundreds of millions in the bank not me. But this is short sighted to me, short term pain (potentially not short) for long term gain. I am die hard canucks fan love and still support them by cheering them on and watching that God awful hockey on TV but until I see a reason to go back to the arena they ain't taking my money. I can stand the losing I mean shit minus the last decade and change we've been a losing franchise so I'm used to it. What I want to see is progress with direction. Getting there I suppose in their own way there are some good things, love Bo, hyped aboutique Thatcher and Brock. Time will tell.

I missed most of the game, but caught a replay of Courtney Daniels singing the anthem......... NICE!
One of the Ice girls, who just happened to be a singer, replacing the originally scheduled anthem singers. One of the singers came down with some throat ailment. I think Courtney did a fantastic job.
