Summary: Canucks management and coaching staff, Dim Jim and WD, should not be deceived into thinking that the team has a strong chance to make the playoffs. Playing a boring system with a low talent can only help you so far in terms of winning games by one goal. Forget this rebuilding on the fly philosophy of trying to stay competitive and trade Hansen or other veterans for good prospects in order to do a proper, full rebuild.
In other words, Aquaman should suck it up and let the team go through a full rebuild despite the loss of revenue from lower attendance that comes with a rebuild.
usually how hockey teams work is if you have mediocre team and great goaltending it will only get so far till the wheels fall off...Its very hard for the goaltending to sustain the amount of level it needs to be to win games. Unless you have a stud goaltender like price.
In all honesty the canucks are in both a win win situation I guess from a fans stand point.
Scenario 1: Team is so bad they aren't that far off from being last in the league which can get you another top 5 pick.
Scenario 2: Team is still in a position to make the playoffs since the western conference is so bad.
Ideally most fans would take scenario 1 and ship out expiring contracts out for draft picks...

Listened to the game on the way home. I hate it when anthem singers moonlight as composers and arrangers. Sing the anthem like it was written, god damn it. It's an anthem and not some Lady Gag Me, song. And why do Amurican singers all of a sudden go all "lounge lizard" as soon as they start singing our national anthem, Oh Canada? I guess it's easy to do.......... not like the Russian national anthem. Can't swoon to that one, lol. I wAnder how Bublé would sing the Russian national anthem. Anyway................ go Canucks, GO!!!

Probably, or most likely, because he is confused, as usual. Maybe he knows the rules better than everybody else. Plus, can you challenge it? The refs discussed it already. At least that's what I saw.

even the management knows this isn't a playoff team, why the hell else would they be ok with megna and chaput on the team for over half a season. they playing aquilini, stealth tank
like fuck canucks really couldn't find anyone better then chaput and megna? I thought that coatian kid they signed in the summer was going to get a look? I mean atleast he is a bigger body...
obviously its an eastern bias(Toronto bias). boring team, no talent, be more like the leafs blah blah. but I mean its not like the leafs are gonna do well following the McTavish build. they might score 4 or 5 goals a game, but they still gonna lose and miss the playoffs. plus as soon as dmen and goalies learn how those rookies shoot/tendencies they gonna drop to 2 or 3 goals per game. they still got a 1b in goal, forwards who cant play d and suspect defense

i wouldn't actively shop him around but at the TD, if a contender wants Hansen, i say let him go and try to get as much as they can for him
with homer glasses off, Hansen is easily worth a blue chip prospect, and a 1st rounder at least.

yeaaaaaa, no hes not lol. I can see a team giving their 1st this year as its not the greatest 1st round (lots of long-term prospects in the 1st round) and a conditional pick/long term prospect. you aint getting a bluechip or both tho
then you have to think, honestly how many wingers do we have that are better than him 1, 2? plus hes a vet you'd want around young players. 9th round draft pick who made it to the nhl and gives it his all, all the time. still on a good contract, and more than likely would keep himself cheaper to stay here

Fucking AT&T shitshow. Was parked in front of Fred Meyer in Bellingham and connection dropped. Got to listen to the anthem being sung by LEO!!!
Wasn't sure if voice was nasal or butt plug. Wanted to hear him sing the Star Mangled Banner, but 1040 rarely airs that part. Just our national anthem.
Anyway, go, Canucks, GO!!!!!!
