Looks like the Canadian version will be the snapdragon processor instead of the Exynos, that kinda sucks especially if they go this route for all future galaxy devices in Canada.

I would hope that it would be the Exynos model. The only way to find out is looking at the specs on the back of the box when they are avaliable.

chince 08-21-2016 11:14 AM

Note 7 came out to 970 after tax. Traded in some shit phone from 10 years ago and they didnt even care.

hal0g0dv2 08-21-2016 11:54 AM

MarkyMark 08-21-2016 12:42 PM

yeah but a screen protector will help you out there. even the cheapie plastic ones will still add protection.

Phone comes equipped with a glass screen protector. I've checked, it's not a peel off sticker, it's a true glass screen protector.

Phone in question for reference: Galaxy Note 7 from Rogers.

Expresso 08-21-2016 11:25 PM

For the trade in do you need anything else like charger/accessories?

I can't stand them. It's like putting plastic over your sofa so it stays new for the next person who owns it. My Nexus 5 has been great without a screen protector but it sounds like GG5 is more shatter resistant because it's softer and more flexible, making it easier to scratch than past versions.

Armind 08-22-2016 09:20 AM

Might consider this, but fuck I hate the damn bloatware so much.

In this day and age, when our phones are rocking 6gb of ram, 64+ gb of storage and octacores, does bloatware do anything to the performance of the phone? The last 3 branded phones I had (including samsung), I didn't consider any of the software on there bloatware.

Have you tried glass? You can hardly tell the difference between a glass screen protector and your actual screen.

I don't think they have ones that can wrap around a curved edged screen though

You're right they don't, unless you get a full overlay but those are usually plastic. Even the iPhone 6 had a rounded edge to it and the protectors wouldn't go edge to edge but as I said, it was BARELY noticeable. Try it out. Hit up night market if you want it super cheap and see what it looks like. $10/installed.

Phone only. People said the Metrotown location doesn't even care if it powers on. Someone said he brought in a flip phone from back in his high school days. It's probably 15+ years old and they still took it

MikeyStyle 08-23-2016 07:29 PM

traded in a blackberry pearl with a dead battery and got $200 back

!MiKrofT 08-26-2016 12:54 AM

Loving mine so far. Battery life not as good as my S7 Edge but we'll see how it goes after a week of usage.

mk1freak 08-26-2016 09:56 PM

Pre ordered 3 of them got them on monday, anyone know what's the difference between the large gear2 vs small when redeeming?

Best Buy guy told me this too. But he said it was only on contract. Samsung site says it does work on outright purchases.

$1050 minus $200 plus tax, minus what you can sell a Note 5 for on CL. Hmm, very tempting...

RiceFarmer 08-27-2016 11:43 AM

Anyone able to find a good glass tempered screen protector? I ordered one on Amazon and it arrived shattered and now sold out.. everything else on Amazon has bad reviews.
