According to TSN, that photo is from 2013, making those 38-year-old MSL quads.

Gumby 07-08-2017 09:14 PM

Pic of crosby's legs now? :troll:

murd0c 07-08-2017 09:18 PM

those are some good looking quads for a 38 year old.. And of course they are for MSL look at the logo on the shorts

jdmhaze 07-08-2017 10:07 PM

All this talk about quads and nothing about the calves? Anybody who knows the struggle of building them can appreciate a set of that caliber.

JV gonna bust so hard

That's what happens when you pick a guy that has shoulder surgery during his draft year, when one of his biggest assets was his slapshot, and uses his size to dominate smaller players.

Don't worry they got it right now...speed and skill! :lol

Jmac 07-11-2017 04:16 PM

I haven't written him off completely yet. Keep in mind he would've been CHL eligible last season if the Canucks hadn't kept him in the NHL all season in 15-16.

That said, I did call it a risky pick at the time and I'm still of that opinion. I'd just prefer to be wrong.

dbaz 07-11-2017 04:44 PM

i dont think it was the right pick due to his situation and who was available. i think the shoulder will never be the same but, that corsi suggests we should give him a year or 2 more of development before completely throwing him out the window

Mike Oxbig 07-11-2017 06:13 PM

JV+ for sam reinhart?

sabres are sold on resigning him yet

highfive 07-11-2017 06:18 PM

Hey remember coho had lots of potential and bo was a 3rd liner checking centre.

Drafting position is one thing

How hard you work afterwards is another.

Mike Oxbig 07-11-2017 06:24 PM

At this point us canucks fans just hope hes as good as scott hartnell was...

The #Leafs announced today the signing of 18-year-old defenceman Timothy Liljegren to a 3-year entry-level contract. #TMLtalk
Management must like what they see to sign him so soon.

TjAlmeida 07-12-2017 12:39 PM

I thought I read somewhere he has already committed to Europe next year or something along those lines.

SHL/Allsvenskan have a transfer agreement.

NHL teams generally don't make use of it because it's expensive when they come to North America (Leafs give zero fucks about $$$)

Also, a little too early to start calling anyone a steal. Sometimes players drop for a good reason (sometimes not).

It was mostly sarcasm.
Fixed it for you:

I wouldn't want him rushed into the NHL, maybe he goes the W. Nylander route and plays in Sweden before coming to the AHL.

Ch28 07-12-2017 05:19 PM

I'm in the boat that thinks Europe eligible prospects should start out there. It gets them adjusted to the physical play against men that are bigger and stronger than them, so they're not the ones doing the bullying (Virtanen). Get's them more used to the NHL grind with an increased skill level of play that you don't necessarily get if you go back to playing in the juniors.

LTIR applies during the off season. Lou on the ball again.

There had been concern the Leafs could not sign him now because paying market value would put them over the NHL's summer salary cap. NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly, however, told the Star that there is such a thing as long-term injured reserve cap space at this time of year even though it doesn't appear to be spelled out in the collective agreement and that should give the Leafs enough room.

"It's a longstanding interpretation of the LTI provisions of the CBA," said Daly. "It has to be re-applied for. We have had several applications in the past going as far back as the summer of 2006."

Lamoriello said the Leafs have already applied for it.
Time to make some signings like Connor Brown.
