Is he even just glitching? Both times before he glitched, he is already looking massively senile to me. I know Alzheimer / dementia patients that look more lucid and capable of communicating than he is. |

Would someone with a better read on US politics than I do care to explain WTF this GOP idiot (Gaetz) think he is doing? or why ousting McCarthy would be a good idea in anybody's mind? Had McCarthy not "be the adult" and passed the emergency gov funding bill, US gov would have shut down, and shxt tons of people would have been stuck without pay. Everyone would know it was the far right GOP's doing, and they would get punished in the next House / Senate election, right? At least that's how I think a a normal, sane person would think. But these GOP idiots probably have their own alternative parallel universe logic... |
Doesn't Matt gaetz fuck kids? I don't think there will be logic in his plans here. |

serious note, i'm not sure people would "understand" the implications of shutting down the country and the far right's role, and probably still vote for gaetz and the like |

Woe, they actually ousted Kevin McCarthy as House Speaker! I actually thought the Dems might back him in order to get things done in the house but the far right made a motion to remove him and all the Dems voted for his removal. What a gong show! |
The Dems are totally enjoying the gong show. Chaos in the Republican-led House of Representatives would make for good ammunition in the presidential election. |
Lol known scam artist and Republican congressman George Santos indicted on scamming his campaign donors by using their IDs and credit cards https://apnews.com/article/george-sa...source=Twitter |
^How can anyone take the Republican Party seriously, I'll never know. It's quite amazing how the last few years I've began to completely lose interest in politics, even while it's a core obsession of mine. Things have become so utterly predictable and ridiculous at this point, it almost feels on purpose. No wonder so many people feel disenfranchised and disengaged from the whole process, it seems like none of this stuff even matters. |
^that's one of the reasons it has gone on for so long. Hardcore reta...republicans will vote republican even if their candidate gets caught wiping their ass with the bible. The good news is that at least according to MSM, the younger demographic are now gaining more interest, and will vote. Also why the republicans are trying as hard as ever to make it more difficult to vote. Democracy for me, but not for thee. |
Steve Scalise drops out of the leadership race today as house speaker because these idiots can't even coalesce around a damn leader after they kicked the last one out. What a shit show, I'm finding it harder and harder to take anyone seriously that would vote Republican/Conservative. From an actual respect level as a person. It truly starts to validate people like mine's suspicions as per why someone would vote for that party in the first place (racism, bigotry, whatever). These people clearly don't know how or even want to govern, outside of culture war crap, why would anyone take these people seriously at this point? |
I hope I am not coming across as the type that enjoys watching the world burn down, but I am really quite amused by the idiocy that the GOP -- and esp its hard right idiots -- has displayed thus far in the Speaker fiasco. Their hardcore supporters are still gonna vote GOP no matter what. But there has got to be a large enough segment of the traditional GOP supporters that are seeing these idiots for who they are, and how they don't have an ounce of concern for the real well-being of the country and its citizens. So are these guys gonna abstain from voting at the next election? or would they actually become swing voters and switch sides (for now)? The longer this gong show continues, the more damage GOP is doing onto itself. If I were Trump, I'd be legitimately pissed about these idiots hurting my election chances. |
What I ask is how do we overcome this as a society? I see it happening in Canada the same way, and it scares me. If we become this crystalized, this polarized, how do you break that? How can we ensure we don't slip into some authoritarian state if we can't figure out a way to agree on basic facts and policies? It does not bode well for democracy or the future for us to be in such rigid camps like this. |
I don't know how we (Canada) or anyone else in the world can overcome this. I would think that proper education and critical thinking skills would at least alleviate the problem, but that almost seem like too big of an ask nowadays too. FailFish I would also say that when wealth is more evenly distributed, when the general economy around the world is strong, the world is generally a far less polarized place than it is now. But I am afraid that those days might really be behind us now. I don't want to sound like tree-hugging green nut, but IMO climate change is really dialing up the stress levels around the entire world. "Rich countries" are blowing through its bank accounts trying to recover / rebuild around the climate disasters. Everything gets more expensive as these very same countries try to shift towards greener energy and de-carbonize. And then you have these middle of the road countries (and poor countries) getting smacked by whatever disasters they are facing (natural or war), and they are all fleeing to the "rich countries". The rich countries get overwhelmed; resentment builds, fueling these polarized sentiments. TL;DR -- we're fxxked |
Inequality drives the anger. You nailed it. You think people are gonna be mad when they are taking vacations, saving for retirement, working 40 hours a week without needing OT to make sure they don't have to choose between food and a mortgage payment? Of course there will always be the miserable fucks that are angry regardless, but there will be so much less of them you can tune it out. Kill musk, kill bezos, kill Buffett, kill zuck, distribute their money to solve some of the worlds problems that can actually be solved by money and watch the changes happen. Hell, or we could have just been taxing them appropriately the last decade or so and have already had things in place to sort it out. We are in stage 4 capitalism and the cancer has taken over. A little maintenance chemo is no longer the solution. |
This gym bro guy I talk to at my gym every day... or rather he talks to me... he pretty much tells me every single day that Bitcoin is the answer to everything and he's been non-stop buying it regardless of the price for like 5 years. I just nod my head and say "mmmm" a lot. Some small incendiary part of me honestly hopes he's right lol |

"Man why don't girls like me I'm fucking ripped" It's because you are a fucking retard dude lol. |
Andrew Tate this, Millennial women are this, and woke shit that. Meanwhile buddy is at the gym for 3 hours a day, unemployed, and has no social life. The man isn't even ripped :lol The last time we chatted he came up to me asking if I "heard this song" -- I already knew exactly what he was going to say. I reply with "what song?" knowing full well what he was about to hit me with. He goes "Rich men north of Richmond, it's amazing!" I told him country isn't my thing, and what put him onto that song in the first place, not to hate, but where did he hear about it? He proceeded to get all annoyed complaining why I'm such a "lefty", I told him he needs to go outside, get sun, and touch some grass :lol |
He proceeded to go outside at night, get a gun and touch some ass without permission |
