unless they're activating service members that are sitting at home not getting paid these guys are already on these boats which are generally already out on deployment?
I'm sure a good majority of these boats may have been in port before and now incurring more costs but wouldn't this be coming out of costs from a different side of their operating budget?
sure the rockets and missiles their firing off are costs but those were already purchased.....but here's the war machine going to work

Just days before the United States launched a major military operation in Iran, FBI Director Kash Patel fired a dozen agents and staff members from a counterintelligence unit tasked with monitoring threats from Iran, according to two sources familiar with the matter.
They were ousted for a simple reason: Each was involved in the investigation of President Donald Trump’s alleged retention of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
As a result, Patel hamstrung the Washington, DC-based FBI counterintelligence unit, known as CI-12, which handles cases ranging from mishandling of classified documents to tracking foreign spies operating on US soil.
The dismissals have added to concern inside the Justice Department and FBI that counterterrorism and intelligence investigations in the wake of the military operation in Iran could be hampered by a mass exodus of national security experts, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter. And like the CI-12 unit, several senior officials were ousted or reassigned because of their involvement in Trump-related investigations, sources say. The removals have cost the Justice Department and FBI decades of combined experience in identifying the types of threats that sources say could appear in the wake of Operation Epic Fury.

War ain't cheap, it's one of the main reasons for the size of the US debt.

America never learns its lesson. They dumped over $2 trillion into Afghanistan and still couldn’t defeat a cave dwellers armed with weapons from the 80's because they handed the country back to the same people they were fighting. AndSyria was effectively handed over to a guy who had previously fought and killed US forces and, at one point, had a $10 million bounty on his head.

on another subject, as with Russia, the US also doesnt seem to be the unlimited super power they claim to be. weapons armouries and supplies are already under scrutiny and there may be measures invoked very soon to make sure theres a production plan in place and this “war” has barely started.

But in the real world, things don't operate that way.
Still, the Trump side will continue to ignore reality, and continue to harp on their version of the truth. Unfortunately, most in the MAGA base will blindly take up whatever the latest version of "truth" is from Trump, even if it direct contradicts any of Trump's previous truths. Until the new policies start affecting themselves -- eg. a MAGA supporter's own family gets ICE-ed, for example -- they don't wake up and continue to spew the falsehood. At that point, you can't even hold any form of sensible discussion with them because they won't even acknowledge the real facts on the ground.
And then there'd be people who don't normally follow this stuff, and they pick up Trump's version of alternative reality, and the misinformation continues to spread, or they start questioning the actual facts on the ground.

In the past, US would try to operate within the rules of common decency, whereas the current administration just does whatever they feel like.
