My 2 current favourites are still:

- LA Chicken
- Big G Large Fried Chicken

But those Korean ones are pretty darn good too...

Church's coupons use to be pretty good. 3pc + fries for like $5, now it's buy 3pc + fries + drink and get 3pc + fries for 50% off..

Churches is expensive af for what u get

I try to stay away from fried chicken but was hung over and went down to my local churches, figured grab a 10 peice and fries in case I wanted more later, fucking like $35 for that?

saveth 09-27-2018 11:36 AM

I stopped going to churches the day they got rid of the 3 pcs and small fries coupon. I was ok with them slowly raising the price but I'm not ok with having to buy another 3 pcs meal. Especially if I'm just eating by myself.

Sandwiches are like half as big as they used to be too

winson604 09-27-2018 11:53 AM

Churches may have gotten rid of the coupon but they did come back with the 3 pc spicy (2 thigh 1 leg) + fries + drink for $7 something which is not nearly as good but still solid. Tell me what you would get at McDonalds for the same price?

I think KFC Tuesday special is $3.29 or $3.49 now for 1 thigh, 1 leg + small fries?

If you guys haven't tried it yet, go check out high 5. It's a great chicken joint.

You still can. Except now they're wings. :troll:

Not even a fair comparison in my opinion. First and foremost KFC chicken tastes horrible and that alone shouldn't even have it compared to churches but even that aside the size of their chicken makes it feel like you got a kids combo they're like ridiculously small.

The hottest chicken joint right now is downlow chicken. Those that like spicy I suggest you don't go crazy right away and start with either medium or hot (there's 2 more levels on top of that). A lot of people get the sandwich but you can just get chicken and even wings as well. It's pricey though like quite a bit higher than churches and anything else but I thought it was solid. Still only ranks number 2 on my list after churches but I would go back for my post workout meal from time to time since my gym is a stones throw away.

badhobz - I've only heard horrible things about them from a hand full of people who've tried. Your thoughts?

Did anyone ever try King Chicken when it was on Rupert and Broadway? $1 Drums special and they were like injected with brine or something the legs were huge and super moist.

Used to go there weekly and order a bunch for the office. I guess they couldn't make due with $1 chicken..

Yup tried it a few times since as it was right by my house and I appreciated that it was cheap and made to order (nothing beats made to order deep fried food) but it just didn't pack enough flavor. Same problem I have with Jukes chicken, moist, fried well but just lacking in flavor.

Haha~ I have to admit that I am still a fan of KFC, and not Church's. I guess that just destroyed whatever street cred I have when it comes to my tastes in food, right? :D

I agree that the KFC pieces have gradually gotten smaller though. I wouldn't say they are kid size yet, but they definitely used to be bigger. It's the same deal for McD and A&W though.

Lol well i'm not one to argue over opinions :)

Mary Browns in Merrit/Kamloops is pretty good, especially cold

All this talk about chicken, and no mention of Mags99 in Squamish?
I had a 3 piece there yesterday. It's a gritty little place, but the chicken and fries are solid.

I had Mags a few years ago..thought it was garbage...dry and lacking flavor..thought it was on par with KFC..

churchs and LA chicken fan here...you should try ezelles down in Seattle..similar to LA chicken

CorneringArtist 09-28-2018 11:06 AM

Boom Beer Chicken in Surrey is pretty fire for Korean style. Kinda hole in the wall, but fried and sauced right.
