absolutely. plus churchs fries are infinitely better, imo.

surprised nobody mentioned lee's (unless i missed it).
they make damn fine chicken. fresh of course. always gotta ask/wait for fresh..

CivicBlues 09-28-2018 12:57 PM

Just had Juke's Spicy chicken for lunch today. It was alright 7/10 - 3 pieces for $9 it was a bit pricey though.

badhobz - I've only heard horrible things about them from a hand full of people who've tried. Your thoughts?

i tried high5 for the first time last weekend, i thought it was just as good or better than LA chicken. I went at 8am on a saturday morning (yes im a weirdo) and surprisingly it was really good. They made it fresh infront of me and i had to wait 15 minutes for it, but the end product was great!

Richmond opened up this new chicken joint

Win Win chicken. Its pretty good, the wife likes this one more than the other chicken joints but i think la chicken/high5 was better.

What's the go-to order at Popeye's for someone who hasn't tried it before.

68style 09-28-2018 08:49 PM

I tried High5 tonight cuz of this thread... it’s not good... chicken is so greasy it actually soaked through the box and bag on the way home, had to clean grease off my car’s seat and not that much flavour either... and the wedges, appreciated the giant wedge size (I like a potato-y fry) and there were green parts on them I didn’t even realize until too late, got some nice moldy taste from one of those and had to check all the other ones before eating them.

Also it cost a fortune it’s way more expensive than Churches for what you get, the sides are super tiny too... all in all a fail.

twitchyzero 09-28-2018 08:57 PM

eats fast food = first complaint is grease going through the paper bag :seriously:

Nlkko 09-28-2018 09:10 PM

What the fuck is your problem asshole? I mean it’s so greasy it’s dripping and soaking through 3 levels of packaging. It’s almost inedible.

GS8 09-28-2018 10:30 PM

I feel like anytime I get fries / wedges from a fast food joint where the skin is attached, I'll get the odd green one in there. The taste is horrid but it's not the same as mold. It is toxic though but only in high doses.

If you do find actual mold though, I'd report that shit to the highest level.

Oh and Juke is over-fucking-rated.

do you complain about soft drinks having too much sugar and cigarettes causing too much staining?

I didn't send your food sample to the lab but I highly doubt you were served moldy fries

...and you continued eating them LUL

whitev70r 09-29-2018 03:42 AM

Korean Fried Chicken ftw!

Oh shit. Now I feel bad for recommending them.

That being said, which store did you go to ? I went to the one on marine.
Did they make it fresh ? I think if it's too hot then the steam from the chicken will soak the box and cause it to melt. I ate mine there and I thought it was pretty good... The skin was really crunchy and it had good seasoning.Didn't try the potato wedges though.

Badhobz 09-29-2018 05:44 AM

Guy at work recommended this place

Chicken World
12842 96 Ave, Surrey, BC V3V 6A8

Says it beats all other chicken joints in Vancouver.

punkwax 09-29-2018 07:57 AM

I haven’t had Lee’s chicken in 25 years but I remember they had the best gravy ever. Was considering a fried chicken mission but their website only shows Vancouver Island locations..

a lot of locations are called Johns chicken now.

fliptuner 09-29-2018 10:38 AM

I thought it was just the PoCo one that changed to John's. Is there still one in Newton and Abbotsford?

They weren’t moldy, when potatoes have green sections they taste moldy when the green parts are ingested. Everyone else reading it can comprehend what I’m saying you dumb fuck, likewise other people know what I mean when I say something isn’t even shook out from the fryer.

Did you ever notice you have a lot of problems comprehending other peoples posts posts on here? Maybe something wrong with the way your brain is wired? Or too arrogant to read more than 5 words before waving your dismissive little hand and pretending you know everything already. Sorry for your mental illness if it’s the former, sorry you’re an asshole who contributes absolutely nothing to this forum if it’s the latter.

Don't even need to go that far.

They have opened in Abby and Chilliwack.

As for HiFive, my experience has been good at both the Marine and Tenth location. I wouldn't go as far to say that they're better than LA but they're on par with Church's and better than KFC.

fliptuner 09-29-2018 12:17 PM

Church's original and Lee's/John's spicy crispy are equally delicious.
