As China approaches the prosperity that we've enjoyed in our lifetimes, they're going to become more like us. Meanwhile as our economy sinks toward scarcity, we might begin to see increasing levels of savagery among our own. |
I find the younger ones don't carry the same habits as their older counterparts. The only behaviour they carry through is the lack of respect for personal space, and often, they are unaware. There needs to be a way to measure their social credit score remotely. |
Man, people my age, (47) grew up in the fucking BEST times!!! |
Are we being fucked by the US again? Oil is down but gas is back to $1.72 today. Time to build more refineries. |

I didn't run into that much this last time I went back. There's a lot less mainlanders now compared to say 10 years ago. And then a swift elbow gets things in check very quickly |

Something like this? :lawl: |
HK is went to decline to a point where htere is no night life. You will see the same issue when you're lining up leaving to to China LOL. |

It's like those people in costco who are in a rush.. I'm like wtf are you doing here if you're in a rush trying to push your cart so fkn fast when there are hoards of people. If you're in a rush, maybe you shouldn't be at costco at lunch time lol |
lol I think the endless amount of homeless people laying across sidewalks and living in squalor on our streets kind of underlines the lack of compassion and caring in our society far more than someone rushing in Costco. Most people here are now accustomed to seeing people in the most dire of straights and just stepping over them. |

ENDLESS AMOUNTS OF HOMELESS PEOPLE How blue is your hair Honda? My mom is 81 and she doesn’t exaggerate as much as you do lol |
lol like.. do I have to go out and take pics? Drive from Metrotown to downtown on Kingsway, what’s the line? 20 people? Either end of my most recent transit excursion https://i.imgur.com/pvPoffH.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/6vV8c5u.jpeg You don’t have to go seek it out.. lol Absolutely, without hyperbole, it’s the worst it’s ever been by far. Green belts, parks, back alleys, pretty easy to find people camped out. Let alone all the vehicles people are living in all around the city. By the way, unemployment rates just hit the highest point since 2016 hehe. Let’s go baby elbows up! https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.7530855 |
ENDLESS is complete hyperbole, you can go to a train station in almost any major city and find someone sleeping somewhere. But whatever, your world is whatever you make of it / want to see I guess. |
And unemployment is still lower than it was from 2009-2014 |
Unemployment isn't exactly a reliable figure either lol... I'm currently contributing to the "unemployed" rate, but it's completely by choice. I could go get a job tomorrow at any number of places if I wanted to. |
Oh yea, that’s totally what’s happening in this country :lol just choosing not to work. If I can just go for a walk and see homeless in parks, at bus stops, etc. I’d say it’s a pretty prevalent, visible issue. Just wait till the homeless count numbers come out. |
We're literally .7% lower than the 2024 numbers of you dreamland Europe and ahead of the last numbers the Conservative party garnered us. I don't know what your point is. I think you'd be surprised how many people are out of work by choice... literally everywhere I go in Calgary there's hiring signs, especially in retail. City of Calgary has tonnes of open unfilled positions, Calgary Police too... I know those ones because I look at them sometimes since they have stuff similar to what I used to do once in awhile. |
Who are you manic? Kids just choosing not to work VS lack of opportunity? lol Also comparing what, 40 nations of an entire continent to a country with a population the size of Poland alone? Which, has almost a 2.5% lower rate. But ok. |
On occasion I see some middle eastern lady asking for money at the Superstore on Grandview Hwy, but she doesn't look homeless, she looks more like refugee status. Then there's the guy who always asks to return carts so he can pocket the $1 deposit. I think that's a pretty good hustle, because whenever he asks me, I always give it to him. In my mind it's like he's working for it..lol no sure if that logic makes actual sense though. |
Filmed April 30th, crosstown elementary with junkies passed out on the playground kids playing around them heheh https://i.imgur.com/DXpQLrU.jpeg |

I see people living free. They're unashamed to be their real self. Where you see layabouts, I see artists and dreamers. Where you see public camping I see decolonial thriving. Maybe instead of judging others, you should take the time to reflect on why you stopped to take a photo, instead of simply smiling at your fellow human living their lives, free to self-express in ways you simply might not understand. Hondaracer, I hope you take the time to unpack your settler-colonial mindset of "appropriate" uses of public space, but I won't hold my breath. https://i.ibb.co/VYLtsmYK/May-12-2025-03-18-59-PM.png https://i.ibb.co/gZPywmM3/Chat-GPT-I...3-22-18-PM.png |
