Months late everytime. Enjoy.
From the listed articles on your list:

"The WHO has not changed its policy on aerosol transmission of the coronavirus, an official said on Monday."

"Presently, the agency’s guidance says the virus mainly spreads from person-to-person through respiratory droplets, which can land in the mouth or nose of people nearby."

“respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks.”

Which all points to using a mask. Which is what the post you quoted said to do. Which means you are a fucking idiot still.

Heard that conspiracy theories on Covid are running rampant in Quebec for some reason.

Yeah I really had to stop reading I was getting so triggered ... I would like to see the demographic of the viewers for this but it is CTV so I assumed it would be mostly Canadians...

It’s not that masks don’t work. With proper distancing they aren’t required.

Why are we moving the goalposts? You cited those very articles to support your argument though did you not? I think we're all still curious to see how we're all interpreting the message wrong?

If you mean by waiting till next summer for another "revision", are we safe to assume that what you're ultimately saying is that the status quo NOW, as it stands is that there is no good empirical evidence to support that masks are "useless" then? And only, and only until another one of these long-awaited revisions will Jesus come out of the sky to prove you've been right all along?

I also don't recall the UN having an official stance saying masks don't work. Lets add that to the list of things to discuss shall we.

When I pick up food from downtown. I see tons of people not wearing masks nor socal distancing.. Maybe this is the reason why our numbers are going up. Thank god I was raised by parents who take this virus seriously. I apply the 6 feet rules everywhere I go, with a mask or no masks.

This is why people don't wear masks -

Percent that die among those hospitalized. Includes both non-ICU and ICU admissions†† -18-49 years: 2.4%

Lets get real, the vast majority of people aren't thinking about "Long term health effects" they don't want to get it, and they don't want to die, that's about it

and statistically, you're not very likely to do either, so roll the dice

For the 10 millionth time, preventing a larger outbreak isn't just about "well I have a 97.6% chance to simply be inconvenienced for a couple weeks"

As a father of three young children, my primary concern, as well as keeping the grandparents safe, is the unknown possible long term effects. We’re a healthy family that would likely survive this today, but if contracting it means my kids may have a tough time living past 60-70 then

You give people too much credit

I completely agree and echo Punkwax’s sentiment of protecting your parents etc. However I think the general thought of the selfish people who do not wear masks as a courtesy to others or simply believe in the scam/hoax theory rely heavily on the idea of you not getting infected and not dieing.

What skinny said, but also what punkwax said. We don't know the long term ramifications of even recovering from the virus. The long term effects of recovering from SARS sucks pretty bad, and people didn't know until a few years after the fact because they simply weren't able to achieve the same respiratory levels as before.

I'm not saying that we should throw caution to the wind, but just look at something like BPA that most of us have been consuming for most of our lives. It was used for over 50 years until we figured out that it is harmful to humans. Since then we've done a great job at eliminating BPA from newer plastics but what about the consumption of micro/nano plastics? I wonder what science will say about that in the coming decades.

My point is, there will always be things that we do today that will have long-term ramifications to our health but we won't know about it until the long-term.

Bingo. This is why I try to not engage individuals who are very clearly misinformed. This very topic of transmission was discussed and clarified multiple times in the early stages of this thread. Different modes of transmission require different methods of handling and PPE. If anyone is still unclear on this, I would be happy to explain again.

As for that workplace scenario, it sounds like the management group has a plan but has not been transparent enough about it. Yes, we have shared working spaces around the hospital and no, it isn't a problem. Why? Because it's very simple for us (as well as housekeeping) to disinfect these areas. My guess is that management wants to rotate people in and out of the office in order to reduce the number of workers and abide by social distancing guidelines. Removal of personal items from work stations means it's easier to disinfect. Sharing of working space means there's less stations to clean. It also makes it easier to track for cleaning schedules on the housekeeping end of things.

As someone already pointed out, it's best to not look at things in a cynical manner right off the bat. It's alright to question if something seems odd but try to understand and communicate rather than fly off the handle only to make yourself look ridiculous later when you're wrong.

Two idiots "fight" inside a bus in Surrey during this weekend because one dude refused to wear a mask. Surrey 312 bus.
The younger guy is doing his best to slap the older guy.
