The more of this shit that comes out and the more about how countries are basically individually assessing how to provide vaccines against manufacturers recommendations. Getting sick and building a natural immunity sure looks decent these days.
You are so fucking ignorant about everything COVID-19 vaccine related.

Please stop spreading misinformation.

Not trying to be an ass; what I've been reading: once you get the 2 doses of vaccine and ASSUMING your body is producing the antibodies... (which also takes time) AND you have to assuming your body keeps producing antibodies.

It ONLY means
a) you don't get sick.
b) you can still transmit.
c) you are still infected.

Therefore, herd immunity is still the only solution which does take time.

Am I wrong...

Yes, your choices for herd immunity are

1) Everyone gets covid, hopefully don't die or get long term issues
2) Get vaccinated

a) is the key important factor
b) yes, which is why you are told to continue with mask usage, sanitizing and social distancing
c) this will only happen if you disregard safety measures

herd immunity via the vaccine is completely different than herd immunity via the actual virus.

it's layered protection where the goal is for you to not get sick (should you contract the virus) and that you continue to do things to stop the spread just in case.

-from the article

OTTAWA (NEWS 1130) – Canada’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout is set to kick into high gear after major disruptions left us with zero doses just a few weeks ago.

To date, Canada has administered just over 1.1 million doses, and in the next four weeks we’re expecting 1.8 million from Pfizer and 168,000 from Moderna.

Major General Danny Fortin is confident the provinces will be able to handle this major increase in distribution.

“There’s still more work to do, for sure, at all levels in the coming weeks. But the provinces have solid plans,” he said.

While Pfizer appears on track to meet its target for the end of March, Moderna is still short 1.3-million doses. But Fortin insists the gap will be filled.

Looks like one of the boomer memes I see from my gun-loving Trudeau-hating (or hate-loving?) friends on Facebook LUL

I still laughed

HK are lifting restrictions after CNY... Restaurants will be serving until 10pm (instead of 6pm) up to 4 at a table (instead of 2). Gyms, etc ,will be reopened

The caveat is that the government's tracing app has to be used to go to these places now. Tracing is obviously very important, but good luck getting people to trust the government now.

Headlines today were saying the mutated stands will become the main variant

CivicBlues 02-11-2021 02:51 PM

Two of the countries where the scary new variants were first identified have cases dropping like a rock.

South Africa:

UK:
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/uk/

What gives? I know UK is in a "lockdown" but South Africa just seems to be plodding along as usual

Liquid_o2 02-11-2021 03:22 PM

Under reporting of cases potentially?

68style 02-11-2021 04:01 PM

Haha yah easiest way to look good is to never report anything bad

CivicBlues 02-11-2021 04:06 PM

at this point? Why would anyone do that? This is the UK we're talking about not some tinpot dictatorship. If they're going to spread fear and uncertainty with the new variants why would they fudge the case numbers? Makes no sense.

SkinnyPupp 02-11-2021 04:47 PM

USA is dropping too

68style 02-11-2021 05:04 PM

I guess at some point you run out of vulnerable / old age victims

SA was under a lockdown that's just recently been slightly lifted

twitchyzero 02-11-2021 05:31 PM

3 months into the gatherings ban and still 400-500 cases with handful of deaths daily

we didn' spiral out of control and overwhelm the system but not sure what they mean when saying it's trending in a good direction

Hondaracer 02-11-2021 05:47 PM

And deaths dropping as long term care gets vaccinated? Who’d of thunk?

whitev70r 02-11-2021 07:17 PM

Oh shit ...warning of a third wave because of variant !

Already go to work and then back home, don't see my friends and family, and restrictions aren't ending anytime soon so another wave is just business as usual as far as daily life goes.

westopher 02-11-2021 10:08 PM

Big ern.
