right now? They're not letting anyone in except for citizens and "critical health workers" I doubt either of you fall into those categories. |
I wonder if Taiwan is accepting? :considered: |
^ friend recently tried to go to see his significant other but couldn't unless you had some special permit/visa. I think the restrictions are similar in South Korea and Australia for foreigners, countries that are seemingly doing much better hmm |
Doing “much better” than everything open and the only real restriction is not having large gatherings? Lol On CKNW they were saying Australia and other places that were perceived as doing well are now back to square one pretty much |
coronavirus discussion Self-care bingo card from the BC government. People are pissed at the NDP for being tone deaf and condescending. -make a blanket fort for self-care. :lawl: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5f0e9fa3b8.jpg Check out this story from NEWS 1130: https://www.citynews1130.com/2021/02...lf-care-bingo/ VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Tone-deaf, condescending, callous, dumb, shockingly bad. Those are some of the reactions to the B.C. government’s tweet offering people in the province self-care tips to help cope with the mental health fallout of the pandemic. The responses came flooding in almost immediately – mostly in the form of quote tweets -many any with the same two-word-long profane phrase. A number of responses took issue with the emphasis on self-care instead of government action. “British Columbians experiencing mental illness can’t find a family physician or psychiatrist to manage their care. Making a blanket fort is not the answer,” one user wrote. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Semi on topic - whenever anyone talks about Australia’s situation I casually mention that it’s summer there (and not influenza season) and we were pretty solid in the summer too. Turns out there are grown adults that aren’t aware of this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

seems like these idiots will always be around. |
I just cant understand it. Like I get not wanting lockdowns, I can empathize with the argument that the damage to the economy, peoples mental health etc. from being unable to work, socialize, travel is causing drastic effects on people. What I can't ever understand is the fight against a fucking piece of cloth on your face, the mentality of "it being an excuse to instil communism" or it being a hoax. If you want people to take you seriously you have to not be SO FUCKING STUPID AS FUCK. Like you think this is going as the government planned? Losing billions of dollars to keep people from going to work or see their parents for Christmas? Sweet fucking plan, so sensible. |

^ no ... I proposed that if you attend a rally and get Covid then if you go to hospital, it's, 'Sorry but we don't treat hoax viruses, you don't have anything, you're discharged. Bye.' What is really stupid is even if you're anti-mask, why are you such an asshole to those who want to wear one. Doesn't the other person have the 'freedom' to do what they want as well. |
Damn.. so they got my DNA when i had my test? :( |
LIBERATE CANADA!!! |
I've talked to several people (both healthcare workers and regular folks) and we've all come up with the "yeah ok, go ahead and believe that horse shit but don't come to us when you actually get sick" idea lol. Obviously we'd still help them but man, I would love for some of these die hard idiots to sign a waiver saying they won't seek medical help when they realize they were wrong. |

This is the news that we've been waiting for. Data from Israel showing vaccines are preventing transmission and infection on top of preventing hospitalization and death. UK variant was also the dominant strain in Israel during this study. From FT.com, "The Covid-19 vaccine made by BioNTech and Pfizer has been highly effective at preventing infection in Israel, according to the first real-world data showing that vaccination stops transmission of the virus. The results gathered by Israel’s health ministry, and seen by the Financial Times, showed that the vaccine was 89 per cent effective at preventing infection of any kind and 94 per cent effective against symptomatic infection." https://www.ft.com/content/2626ec05-...4-be62c29c4894 |
