I would be somewhat okay with some heavy-handed regulations if it's proven to stamp out the virus, but at this point it's looking like this thing is going to be around for years/the rest of our lives. Once you agree to these types of measures, it's extremely easy for these to just stick around indefinitely (it's like getting stuck with a responsibility that you temporarily accepted at work), or to accept even further, more "draconian" measures in the future as it becomes the "new normal."

I'm guessing I'm not the only one who is getting sick of these contrarian deniers. Normally their screeching about how everyone else is a sheep while they gobble up anything and everything that's not "mainstream" (while failing to see the irony) in a sad attempt to feel smarter than the turnips that they are is just background noise that can be ignored. But right now is probably the first time in a while where they can actually cause more harm than normal to others with their smooth brains. After months of it I can see why people are more willing to go along with regulations against them.

Maybe that's the real secret plan of the lizard people, use the nutters to annoy the general population into giving them what they wanted.

What I've learned:

Media/politicians=lies
Conspiracy theories=truth

Not sure how this is working for you considering conspiracy theories are conveyed by media lol

westopher 09-05-2020 01:08 PM

Just have to read his posts to realize it’s not working.

Much like any decent conspiracy theory, a good joke always houses at least a kernel of truth..

Wow some very interesting news.
It's estimated that up to 90% of those who'd tested positive in the US had viral loads so low they wouldn't even be considered contagious.

Canada uses the same gold standard of testing. Makes you wonder how many of the cases here are virtually irrelevant.

New York Times is paywalled so here's the article copy pasted:
Spoiler!

anyone know how busy central park drive-thru testing is in the morning?

asymptomatic with exoposure and got result back from yesterday being negative but i wanna have more confidence in the testing before going to work/seeing family

It's possible that once it's adapted to a human host that it'll just stay dormant much like Chickenpox or Herpes and coexist with the host. SARS-CoV2 was adapted to bats and bats don't seem to be dropping dead.

Maybe they should concentrate on therapeutics as much as they are working on a vaccine to treat the occasional flare up for those already infected.

Covid cases from the Labour Day long weekend: 429.

Dr. Bonnie announces new restrictions during today's Covid briefing:

Dr. Bonnie has ordered all nightclubs and standalone banquet halls to close effective today.

No alcohol can be served after 10pm at bars, lounges, restaurants, and pubs. These places must be closed at 11pm.

Dr. Bonnie states that if we increase our social interactions with one group of people, we need to decrease our social interactions with another group of people.

Those of us who haven’t eaten at a restaurant, gone to the mall, gone to any parties, any big events or done risky business since February:
