^ sorry I don't get it.

1) not enough vaccine?
2) people not willing to get it?
3) we aren't reaching people into the interiors?

Is it the rate of people NOT getting the vaccine or we don't have enough. Totally different. What do you think

RiceIntegraRS 06-12-2021 02:33 PM

I want to get my 2nd dose but me, everyone in my family, plus my friends are waiting for the text message to setup the appointment. But this is our government, im not the least bit surprised its taking so long.

Yeah, the tweet was from Feb 5 so not sure? Maybe Manic just pointing out that it's being fixed?

Heart inflammation in young men higher than expected after Pfizer, Moderna vaccines: U.S. CDC

Quote:

A higher-than-expected number of young men have experienced heart inflammation after their second dose of the mRNA COVID-19 shots from Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna, according to data from two vaccine safety monitoring systems, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said on Thursday.

The CDC and other health regulators have been investigating heart inflammation cases after Israel’s Health Ministry reported that it had found a likely link to the condition in young men who received Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine.

This is RS where vast majority of the membership is in their 30s or older.

Doubt we have any 12-24 year olds here anymore.

RiceIntegraRS 06-12-2021 06:02 PM

But whats the age group for "young men". I googled it and wiki says 13-39. While other websites says 18-24 ect. Why cant they be more specific with ages instead of using words like young men, young adults.

The article says "Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccines were in people between the ages of 12 and 24, the CDC said."

RiceIntegraRS 06-12-2021 06:20 PM

Not gonna lie, i didnt read the article just what was quoted. But they also said an increase in heart inflammation between the ages of 16 and 39

Quote:

Shimabukuro also said the Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) - another safety monitoring system - showed an increased incidence of heart inflammation in 16 to 39 year olds after their second shot when compared to the rate observed after the first dose.

How many blood clot-related cases were there before J&J & AZ vaccines were removed from circulation?

SkinnyPupp 06-12-2021 07:41 PM

I wonder if they'll find out if it's a direct connection

If you had your first one after the first wave of (mostly) old people, your second one is already set dude, check your health portal using the BC services card app:

https://www.healthgateway.gov.bc.ca/

I got mine May 20 and it automatically showed up with my second shot estimated for July 8 on there and it says I’ll be texted or emailed shortly beforehand.

Heart inflammation in young men higher than expected after Pfizer, Moderna vaccines: U.S. CDC

Looking at the numbers again, there are 280+ persons that developed the heart inflammation issue. Most of this carditis / pericarditis is mild, although ~6.6% (15) of them are serious enough to warranty hospitalization, with 1.3% (3) of them requiring ICU stays. Most (all?) of those requiring hospitalization are men under 18 years old. The stats are provided by the good doctor interviewed by CBS news here:

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/covid-1...-inflammation/

To put it into perspective, there are 130M people in the US who have received their full 2 doses of mRNA vaccines. Out of that total, we have 280+ people developing a heart inflammation issue. I am most definitely not trying to sound heartless, but even when you discount the fact that these heart inflammation would very rarely appear in normal people too, it is still 280+ cases out of 130M.

Hondaracer 06-13-2021 02:32 PM

So what side effects will pop up next month/year? Lol

whitev70r 06-13-2021 05:21 PM

Man ... in Alberta, you can win a $1M for taking the vaccine ... 'Murica' ... I mean 'Alberta'! Don't mind me, just jealous. Horgan ... how about it?

Alberta launches COVID-19 vaccination lottery with three $1 million prizes

Yeah Israel reported the heart inflammation issue a few weeks ago, for 39 and younger men, was debating if I should just stick with 1 shot instead

Teriyaki 06-13-2021 07:13 PM

I'd rather not live in a place where you're surrounded by people that need the dangle of a "lottery" to get vaccinated thank you very much.

Mr.Money 06-14-2021 12:41 AM

took my 2nd shot of moderna.

holy fuck, for some strange reason it hit harder than the first shot that made me yawn with little bit of energy able to stay up during the day.

This 2nd dose on waking up the next day was insanely lazy with almost no energy....the bed felt comfortable more than anything.....i had to take food out the freezer downstairs, throw it in a oven then go Right back to laying down waiting for the timer.

2/10....did not enjoying like i felt 90 years old about to fucking die sick.

i imagine if i drank beer all day in 40 degree weather this is how the hangover would feel the next day.

GLOW 06-14-2021 06:12 AM

well that sounds ominous...

so i should prep myself the day of, by stocking up on beer

CRS 06-14-2021 06:39 AM

Usually the second dose of anything is worse than the first dose.

This all has to do with how your immune system functions. First dose, your immune system gets the playbook and the anti-bodies. Second dose, your immune system goes to work.

It's just like allergies, if you're allergic to something, the first time you experience it, you'll have mild or no reaction at all. Second time, your body goes all out.

The number of people that this has affected will be grossly under reported. I posted about men in this demographic noticing their hearts reacting in various ways back in April. There will be people who don't even know their heart is being affected, others will tough it out, others won't say anything if it potentially affects their job/career. That guy that developed the heart arrhythmia in my old post may lose his Aircrew category and have his flying career ended if it can't be corrected with Cardioversion. He's 29....

mikemhg 06-14-2021 11:24 AM

I didn't even want to post about this, because I totally jinxed myself.

My vaccine on that Monday elicited fucked up diarrhea for a whole week from the Tuesday - Sunday. Ended up clearing up by Sunday night.

Apparently that's a side effect for some people, lucky me.

Needless to say I did not inform any of my friends that are on the fence about the whole thing :lol

LightKeeper 06-14-2021 11:43 AM

I'm going to throw this out here.

A lot of people who got it refuse to acknowledge something bad happen to them. Maybe it's their ego, but they would think "it's still worth it to get it instead of covid" so they can go back to "normal" and travel to continue to flaunt on their IG.

Anyways, either you get the jab or not. People should still be respected for their own decision.
