Im vaxxed x3 and I believe I got the new omicron variant last week at an outdoors event. A few other people that I know also contracted the virus within a couple days of me getting it. It seems that omicron and especially the new version can easily infect you even if you are boosted up. Makes sense why Pfizer is developing a more inclusive vax that has better protection against omicron variants.

Covid has turned into an endemic. Most are at least double vaxxed. Most who catch Covid are asymptomatic or shake it off in days, etc. Our health care system made it through the worst of it without crumbling. It’s basically mission accomplished.

^^ yes until all the doctors and nurses gets it and has to stay home. We've had 3 ppl at work get covid all in the last 3 weeks. Plus other ppl calling in sick. Sure it's not ppl dying but you still get sick and it affects how a business operates. Don't bitch when restaurants are closed cuz all the staff are sick. Theres a mass outbreak at metro right now from an outbreak at the line friends pop up  | |

^ yah, it's still a PIA to get it and a small % of people will deal with long term issues like fatigue, heart issues, or other mystery symptoms. Best case is get it and mild symptoms and you're done.

I was at RCH today for something unrelated, and was guided through what I have to assume is the covid isolation ward at the ER, because each 'room' looked hastily made and was obviously an afterthought for some containment.
Each room had someone on a ventilator, and out of the 5 people I saw through the peephole, only 1 looked actually old. There was also a ~week old baby with Covid that was admitted while we were there.
Me, the wife, and our toddler all got it ~3 weeks ago but we all shook it off easily, even the kid with no vaccines just spiked a fever for a day but was fine after that.
So yes, most people will not be hospitalized. But some will. And hopefully that number still stays manageable for healthcare. There's a lot of doom & gloom for the next wave, but I know a lot of people that got it recently and it seems to be manageable still.

Haven't heard much about results from any investigations as to how this virus got out of hand. Was it naturally occurring or man made?

| I remember when Covid first started, this theory of a Chinese lab letting it out (either accidentally or intentionally) was part of the tin foil hat/conspiracy. Supposedly, it was a bat that passed it to Wuhan in a wet market.
Now this theory of it escaping from Chinese lab has emerged as the most widely accepted and credible narrative.

^ Of course, now the question is was it accidental or intentional? Some suggest that China leaked the virus intentionally to slow the rest of the world down in terms of economic advancement ... if that was the case, it kinda bit China in the ass as they were the 1st to feel the negative economic consequences and are still now. It appears that they, of all countries, are having one of the worst effects.

I would definitely assume it’s not on purpose, as if the world would have handled it better from the early onset, it only would have affected China. If they were actually trying to commit a bio attack, it would have been sent to US first

I think if that was the case they’d be a lot more calculated. After all, China hasn’t brought any solutions to the table, and I’m sure rich, powerful Chinese individuals have suffered from this.
All they have been able to muster up is crushing their own economic growth, and a syringe full of water that they call their own “vaccine”

Fauci was supposedly involved with gain-of-function research and funding at the Wuhan lab. If it were released on purpose, it may not have been under the instruction or awareness of the Chinese government itself.

Again like I said before. Covid is fucking here, we aren’t preventing it from appearing cause one dude out of 500 tested out of 5000 travellers tested has it. It’s a complete waste.
