It won’t be any more than a CTR

Unlikely, I'd be surprised if you would even hit 50k.

immorality 03-24-2022 07:24 PM

MSRP for a CTR is $46,200 and the Golf R is $45,995 so it has to be similar to those.

underscore 03-24-2022 07:39 PM

Every estimate I've seen puts it at ~$45k CAD.

twitchyzero 03-24-2022 08:51 PM

but how much markup since STI as we know it got killed off?

at least some on the waitlist might go for the manual Supras

!Aznboi128 03-24-2022 09:58 PM

Sorry, I meant with taxes and fees so like a low 50k car.

At the 45k estimate it's pretty good, but since it should have AWD should it be more than CTR? Volkswagen pricing is very aggressive, I mean a GTI mid trim is priced the same as a Civic hatch these days.

AzNightmare 03-25-2022 02:47 AM

$45k sounds about right... It's a newcomer, it would be a mistake to put off customers with too aggressive of a price tag. A lot of people are still not sold on owning a performance based Corolla. The car doesn't sell itself.

Also, has specs been confirmed yet? The price should reflect that, because there are some rumors of it only being around 268hp which would be WRX tier.

It's rumored to have more power than the GR Yaris, and someone from the GR Corolla forums knows someone in corporate who was told 300hp+. Looking at Toyota's GR lineup right now, I'm going to guess pricing to be at $49,995 MSRP to fill in the gap between the GR86 and Supra.

Any word on whether Toyota or Subaru Canada have stopped taking orders for the MY22 BRZ/GR86?

Special K 03-27-2022 08:11 PM

I put a $500 deposit down for a GR86 mid Feb.

No ETA

That front fender vent better be functional! (unlike the fake stuff that we've seen on the Supra).

Looks like a GR86 was just popped up at New West Toyota:

Allegedly it is supposed to be functional as it is advertised in the sales process as to what it does and is an optional piece of equipment the buyer can pick and choose.

It’s a MT Premium

I stand corrected. Not sure why I thought it was auto - I believe the listing originally showed 'Automatic' and didn't think twice before sharing :okay:

Kayci 03-28-2022 04:32 PM

There's an auto gr86 at langley toyota. 2k off msrp

edit: it's gone. saw it last night. that was fast

Special K 03-28-2022 05:14 PM

It’s sold.

underscore 03-29-2022 12:24 PM

I put down a deposit for the GR Corolla, the people at the dealer didn't seem to know a lot about it but I'm second on the list there apparently.

JDMDreams 03-29-2022 12:36 PM

Will this be hot? I'm not sure what the demand on a $50k Corolla will be. You don't even see any new Supras around, not sure if it's ppl not buying them or they are not even available.

That's because the Supra is a BMW.

The demand for a $50k CTR is the same as the demand for a $50k Corolla, maybe more, since it has a unique powertrain. The GR Yaris was already selling out, no doubt a GR Corolla will see the same popularity.
