Yeah Demko needs to be in top form for this to be a possibility, but it's not happening for him

Damn. Demko gets beat five hole. 5-3.
Bye bye to any slim chance of playoffs.

Helluva push these last 2-3 weeks ... and this coming from someone who didn't really give them a lot of hope or chance. They brought excitement back to hockey at this time of the season ... kudos. This stretch was kind of the Canucks playoffs. Boudreau created a competitive winning culture in the room ... what more can you ask for. Bring him back.

canucks probably would have played this way with any coach as long as it was not Green. And its sad they had to kinda tank the first part just to piss off the fans and get Green/JB fired. If they hired Bruce right away they might have been in the playoffs.

Im actually pretty sad that the Canucks will miss the playoffs. Especially since we all witnessed the Blues going from basement to Cup Champs in a single season not to long ago. I was actually pretty confident that the Canucks could pull this off and make the playoffs. Under Bruce the Canucks are actually a Top 10 Team points % wise. Just too bad that they still continue to lose to teams that they should easily steamroll.

I've been a fan a long time and will continue to follow of course. But this is a pretty typical Canucks thing for the last 30 years I've been following haha
- late surge and just miss the playoffs or squeak into last place
- lose many games to teams they should've beat
- have a terrible 3rd period
At least pettersson is having a great late season, hopefully he remembers what he changed and will continue it into next season.

Guess that's it... GG.
LA won their game. They're too far to catch now.
It was a fun month of hockey.
And if you told me Petey was going to have the best season in his career so far back in Jan, I would have laughed in your face.
24pts in first 45 games
41pts in next 31 games.

Rest In Peace to Guy Lafleur.
The Canadiens legend passed away at age 70.

I have an Upper Deck card of him with the Nordiques I got signed by him when I was a little kid when he was doing autographs at the Save-On Foods on 3 Rd in Richmond way back when.
I clearly remember he was sitting there signing stuff (mostly for kids) with a cigarette dangling out of his mouth the entire time.
Smoking’s a bitch.

At least with the Canucks season over I can stop watching Sportsnet where you get bombarded with commercials for cars you can't buy right now due to a long waitlist and Esso telling you to celebrate every time you go to the pump. Whoever wrote that Esso commercial can go fuck themselves. Gas is ~$2 per liter, ain't nobody celebrating lol.

Guy Lafleur is one of those early hockey memories for me, and not because of his legendary play or anything (most of which came before my time). I remember him coming out of retirement, seeing how different he looked and played, and I started to understand hockey was played before my time, that it was different, and that players eventually get old. It kinda made me think about the game itself. I would have my own legends and era of the game. Eventually I would imagine how the game would evolve in my life time, how futuristic hockey cards would get (ie like the ST TNG holographic projection of Tasha Yar). So Guy helped trigger those thought processes in me.
