I followed the Islanders quite a bit this year, Trotz may have been a good coach in Nashville but he was brutal in every facet with the Islanders this year.
Super poor goalie management, starts didn’t make sense, he handled his young stars with constant punishment and benching, wouldn’t play their prospects like Wahlstrom or Bellows anywhere but shit lines… Lee and Barzal had horrible years… the only bright spot was Dobson.
He had to go… he’s ruining the confidence of their young up and coming guys and the vets hated him/stopped playing.

I read some teams like Edmonton and the Leafs are driving to closest border, going across on land, then flying from there to their destination. All that to avoid the air travel Covid testing .. sounds like a pretty big hassle but if you don't want to take the chance of one of your players testing positive and then can't play.

It’s true, Edmonton flew to YVR and took a bus to Bellingham to head down to LA for games 3/4
Must have been exciting for the Bellingham airport staff haha

I think oil did it for everyone’s favourite anti vaxxers Kane and Archibald. Toronto specifically did it because Pearson is such a clusterfuck right now due to staffing.

Oilers private charter, so does it still count? I'm not sure.
There's also a loophole where you don't need to check for vaccination if you are transiting to another country... so perhaps they did it that way? Even if that transiting was by bus?
I think this is the loophole they used tbh.
They would still require vaccination at the land border though no? Maybe both Archibald and Kane finally gave in and got vaccinated.
Edit: I looked it up, Archibald got a medical exemption based on his history of myocarditis............ which was, ironically, caused by getting frickin Covid lol. Not sure about Kane.

ouch Rangers losing 4-2 against a 3rd string goalie and looks like they will be down in the series 3-1 after this game. This team looks spineless, what a difference JT the complete package could make to a team like this. Maybe this will lead to them opening up their pocketbooks

I guess some may be shocked considering the Pens are using their 3rd goalie to take the lead thus far and while the advantage in net alone should be a landslide the result should not be overly shocking. Of the teams in the East the Rangers were bound to disappoint as they rely way too much on goaltending. Don't let their record and stats for players fool you but they are just not built for the playoffs at this time.
