At most he should be getting paid similar to Conor Garland if he wants to stay. Garlands got more points, got more grit, plays with more intensity than Boeser. This season Garlands 52 point, plays less mintues, with +18. Boeser is a far -5.
I would agree that he shouldn't be paid that much given his production and never having played a full season, but his qualifying offer is what he's paid now, so they have to give him at least that much if they want to keep him, which is what they're saying they want.

I think it's an excellent deal for the Oilers. In fact, they should also give Evander Kane and Koskinen monstrous extensions. And in 2 years when Duncan Keith is 40, they should extend him too.
Variable traffic signs have been spotted by drivers on Deerfoot Trail and Macleod Trail, with a Calgary Flames theme this morning — just in time for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
With the Flames set to open Game 1 against the Dallas Stars tonight at the Saddledome, City of Calgary signs encouraged drivers to shoulder check in a rather unique way.
“If you shoulder check… so will Lucic! Go Flames,” the sign reads.
On a serious side, I think that the Flames will beat Dallas in their series.

He wants BB back coaching the team.
Reporter asked about contract extension instead of just one year for BB. -suggestion about not putting Boudreau in a situation as a lame duck.
JR said that the organization is strong to support Bruce. JR said that if players stop listening to Boudreau, those players will be gone from the Canucks before BB.
-team must play with more structure instead of depending on our goalies to bail the team out.
In particular, JR said that the team’s defensive zone exits are one of the worst in the league.
He gave an example of when one of our D-man face puck pressure, we need a structure in place to give d men better options too S the pick out of the defensive zone instead of the d-man shooting the puck off the boards or glass.
JR said that if the puck stays in our zone, then then the puck is likely to be in our net without the great play of our goalies.

Good news! New practice rink for the team. JR mention that management is narrowing it down to 2-3 sites.
JR says that ever since the big boss Aquaman came to his house to talk about the Job as team president, his relationship with the big boss is terrific. They talk about the team every two weeks.
He said that when the team need something, there is no pushback from the big boss.

He said he's not going to extend him, just having him back next year... and if things go well, then they will talk. Used an example of Mike Sullivan in Pittsburgh, won 2 cups in a row and the next season was the last of his contract... still went halfway through the year before they started talking to him.
He said otherwise you run the risk of paying multiple coaches every season.
Media needs to fuck off with the lame duck label. I never even heard that expression until Travis Green's last year. Everybody has a last year on their contract at some point.
