This isn't the 80s anymore where you can outscore your opponents and have mediocre goaltending and win a cup (unless maybe you're the Pens)

on Bieksa, from the Athletic:
You mentioned that you were planning to announce your retirement with a special twist. What is the status of the announcement?
I was going to sign a one-day contract and retire as a Canuck two years ago, on March 28. I don’t even know where it stands. We had it planned, but COVID shut things down on the 15th. I had my flight booked and everything.
It was actually my dad’s idea. I don’t need to retire – officially. I don’t need the attention. My dad was like, “It’s good for the Canucks. Good for your legacy.” I’m basically doing it for my dad. I’m supposed to retire as a Canuck (smiles) … Maybe I’ll retire as a Duck.
We were talking (with the Canucks) at the start of the season and they were kind of figuring out when we were going to do it and they said they were definitely going to do it. Then Jim Benning gets fired. Now there’s a whole new regime. I was there for the mental health night but it wasn’t the time to bring it up. Who knows? If we get to it next year, fine. I’m not going anywhere.

Looks like Kahdri is out for the rest of the series and Kane is suspended 1 game ... shoe is on the other foot for Kahdri, he's usually the one being suspended.
Last year, in 2021, Kahdri got 8 games for head hit to Faulk (St. Louis)

Surprised nobody watched the Rangers vs Lightning game, it was tremendous! Wrong team won unfortunately
I hate that the Lightning ran the goalie several times, got penalized for it twice, got scored on twice, and still won. There is no justice in sports with Florida teams I guess
Zibanejad and Stamkos are amazing to watch with their one timers, especially Z who sits there on the half board all day long, you know what he's doing, but you still can't stop it. It's amazing

It was a noon game here so a bit awkward for everyone trying to do their Sunday thing I guess.

I didn't realize that Shesterkin doesn't even speak english... he conducts his post-games with an interpreter.
Kinda wild for someone playing at that level/prominence!!

No urgency for the Coilers, this is all but ogre
I guess you need more than one hockey god to win a playoff series
Nobody else is doing anything, and god bless Mike Smith but they need to score 4 goals minimum to win, and they're doing nothing

Oilers looking a lot better but we're not seeing a meltdown like vs the Blues.. If they can somehow cause that, they might be able to win 4 in a row

See? You can't do the fucking wave with a 2 goal lead when your goalie is Mike Smith
