And I'm being extremely generous, as I think Vas is the best goalie, Hedman the best defenceman, and Kucherov is the 2nd/3rd best forward (after McDavid and tied with Mackinnon). Throw in Point who's probably top 10.

Point gets underrated cuz he kinda half-asses his way though every regular season (you know he's capable of so much more)... then it's balls to the wall in the playoffs.

^ I think Halak will provide solid backup work and get maybe 50-75% of wins. This is the kind of goalie that JB should have been aiming for last year instead of Holtby ... but he used Aqualini's money to buy himself out of that gaffe.

Back to the Evander Kane story. I'm not sure what the background story is with the wife, but good on her for drawing attention to her husband's gambling addiction. Not sure if there's malice there or some hidden agenda, but man, when you have a child and your finances are in ruin, you have to get help somehow. For the sake of the child(ren). If she was family or a good friend, I'd try to convince her to leave the guy. Love him or not, bottom line is, it's going to be a nightmare to go through life with someone who has no control. It's an addiction like any other. It's a form of mental illness. I hope he gets help. He's probably an asshole in real life, but still, he's hurting........... himself and others who care about him.

Its crazy how much these defencemen are getting. Now were even more fucked cause Hughes camp will look for even more money. And Petey will want more cause hes arguably better than all theses guys. Even if they sign a bridge contract, the AAV has gone up now.....

Nurse has ONE good statistical season riding McDavid's immense coattails every shift to an inflated plus/minus and points well above his norm... and the Oilers, based on that, send it?

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has re-signed defenceman Olli Juolevi to a one-year contract at a value of $750,000.
“Last season was an important step in Olli’s development as an everyday NHL defenceman,” said Benning. “We’re glad to have him signed and look forward to his game progressing further next season.

Lots of chatter about Pettersson's "I want to play for a winner" comment but I for one love it. It's refreshing to see someone upfront about a player's intentions, especially when it aligns with the fan base. As a bonus, if he wants to win, then he should also understand that he needs to take a little bit less than he should to build a winner.
