im actually rooting for OJ to have a decent career, to bad its not in Van. Juulsen has everychance to crack the canucks roster. He played some big minutes in Montreal awhile back but injuries hindered his progress. Its funny, we need a guy to play on the 3rd pair but also could be relied on the 2nd pair on the right side. Sounds like Stetcher to me.
OJ was deemed to be a failure from the start, no one liked the pick and it was essentially a self-fulfilling prophecy
I know exactly where I was when the pick was taken because I was in the car driving back from a friends cabin and had my fingers crossed for Tkuchuck :/

Didn't Benning say he was drafting by position when he took Juolevi? Should've taken best player available at that spot. Would've been nice if we got Tkachuk now knowing we got Hughes.

Yes we were drafting by need. We were extremely thin on D so i understood why we were taking a defencemen. He could of taken Sergachev, Chychrun, Mcavoy I was actually hoping for Sergachev myself. When Juolevi was drafted my first thought was "who is the best finnish defencemen all time? Lumme? Numminen? were fucked"
Meh you will never know. Was the pick at the time shocking? Yea but people were more angry we passed on MT more than anything. It wasn't like OJ was some low ranked bum he was rated quite high by most scouts. Plus if we drafted MT who will know how well or poor we did. We may have never been able to draft EP and Huggie Bear.

general manager Jim Benning says forward Brandon Sutter is still experiencing COVID-19 symptoms seven months after the virus swept through the team.
Benning says the veteran forward is "going to be out a while" and that there is no timeline for his return.
"He's experiencing some of the symptoms of the COVID. I guess they call it being a long hauler," the GM said on Monday. "He still has some issues he's working through with that.
"So once he's feeling better, the first step for him is to get feeling better and then once he's healthy enough and feeling better, he'll start working out and get back out on the ice."
Benning added that Sutter does not have myocarditis, a condition that causes heart inflammation and has been associated with COVID-19.
Sportsnet's Iain MacIntyre says Sutter's fatigue only became debilitating by mid-August.

Let me correct this: COL GM Joe Sakic announces that Nathan MacKinnon tested positive for COVID. He is asymptomatic, will miss Wednesday’s game — Saturday is not yet determined
^ppl are pissed how in the span of few months we lost Lind, Gad, and Macewen.
"Asset management" lol
but then again...if we want the team to improve, this is going to happen. For fuck sakes, the bottom 6 was wide open for any players this offseason. All you gotta do is come in and play. Instead you get outplayed by Petan and others.
Yah I'm not sure what everyone is crying about so much... I do think Gadj might come back to bite us a bit? We will see if he gets a shot with the Sharks, he doesn't appear to be in their current lineup... funny enough, DAHLEN is starting on the first line LW for them this year??? Shows how shitty the Sharks are.
Macewen is pretty one dimensional, he's been given SO many golden opportunities... he just doesn't have good hockey IQ and that's that. Losing only Lind during an expansion draft is a win in my mind compared to what other teams lost.
I'm not upset at all. All these players are extremely replaceable. I can only be upset with Lind that he was drafted relatively high and was a miss (so it seems).
