I think I’m switching my allegiance to Verstappen lol.. fuck just love the way he drives and Charles has been hella disappointing lol

sonick 08-02-2022 06:46 PM

Yah Max has gotten much more chill since winning the championship last year and is actually likeable now in interviews.

There were some analysis about it by commentators. Ferrari pretty much laid out the rest of the race at the early first pit stop as they no longer had enough med tire life to last until the end and put on softs to end the race. Literally shooting themselves in the foot.

Binotto blamed the car instead of strategy :lol

Well played lol

inv4zn 08-04-2022 03:13 PM

lol such a troll.

There's a lot of conjecture, but now people are saying OP was premature/immature in his tweet. Even if everything he said is 100% true, he could have worded it a lot better, ie. "while I'm grateful for Alpine's offer, unfortunately at this time nothing is decided" or smth.

Like why burn bridges, especially with a potential employer lol

It was 100% directed by lawyers or agents not OP. If Piastri does not get a seat in F1 in his career it's on his representation not on him.

inv4zn 08-05-2022 07:58 AM

Piastri to replace Ricciardo at McLaren in 2023!

Spoon 08-05-2022 08:20 AM

Ricciardo's going to leave F1 with so many regrets.

Left Red Bull for Renault. Chose McLaren over Ferrari. Now he's likely stuck in no man's land. :ahwow:

He can go back to Alpine lol, and likely will.

Also he made $$$ doing those, and he has enough recognition that he won't go into obscurity.

The Producer 08-05-2022 09:16 AM

it will be interesting to see if he gets involved with any tv production

this news is a few months old

Not saying he's done, but he loss his chance to ever be in the front of the grid again.

With RB pretty much walking away with both championships. 4th/5th place might end up being the most entertaining part of the season. :awwyeah:

Hondaracer 08-05-2022 12:05 PM

Ricciardo seemingly blew so many chances with good teams just trying to hop around

Great68 08-05-2022 12:15 PM

I don't blame Ricciardo for leaving Red Bull, it was becoming pretty clear the favored Max, who by his own right was getting better and better.

The Max of 2021 and 2022 would absolutely wipe the floor with Ricciardio.

Leaving Renault (who was on an upward trajectory at the time) for McLaren was a bit dumb, everyone massively underestimated Lando.

westopher 08-05-2022 12:27 PM

What makes Riccardo so likeable is what kept him from going further I think. He just doesn’t have that “I’m the fucking best and everyone else sucks” attitude.

2026 changes

Ugh forgot F1 blocks their videos bleeh

Quote:

The FIA World Motor Sport Council has today approved power unit regulations set to come into effect for the 2026 season – with increased electrical power and 100% sustainable fuels two of the key aspects of the newly-approved rules.

The 2026 Formula 1 power units will maintain the current V6 internal combustion engine architecture, with the FIA setting out four key pillars of the new regulations:

Maintaining the spectacle – the 2026 power unit will have similar performance to the current designs, utilising high-power, high-revving V6 internal combustion engines and avoiding excessive performance differentiation to allow for improved raceability

Environmental sustainability – the 2026 power unit will include an increase in the deployment of electrical power to up to 50% and utilise a 100% sustainable fuel

Financial sustainability – financial regulations regarding the power units will reduce the overall costs for competitors whilst retaining the cutting-edge technological showcase that is at the core of Formula 1

Attractive to new power unit manufacturers – the regulations are intended to make it possible and attractive for newcomers to join the sport at a competitive level

The 2026 regulations will see the current Motor Generator Unit Heat, or MGU-H, element removed – while the power output on the power units’ Energy Recovery Systems will be increased to 350 kilowatts.

About 10 years from now, in 2032 or so, Formula 1 will essentially become Formula E. If not sooner.

Each car will have loudspeakers though, and will sound like the high-revving 17000rpm V12 engines from the early 2000s :lol

snowball 08-16-2022 08:24 PM

MGU-H removal should help with the sound, hopefully this means Red Bull Porsche is a go!

I wish Red Bull would just rearrange the microphones.

Good example would the Max's 2019 Brazil Pole Lap :sweetjesus:

And one of my favorite videos from last year, film session with the Alpha Tauri's

StylinRed 08-25-2022 11:26 PM

Audi confirmed for 2026 as a power unit supplier (live feeds happening now)

SkinnyPupp 08-26-2022 12:15 AM

Doh engine supplier only, I thought it was as a team at first

StylinRed 08-26-2022 02:26 PM

It was rumoured while the live feed was going on that they'd be buying a majority stake in sauber, but nothing solid yet

sonick 08-27-2022 09:05 AM

LMAO Ferrari...

Leclerc: Wait, what are these tyres?

Good quali for Albon, that Williams has some pace in the straights.

StylinRed 08-27-2022 02:57 PM

Ferrari being ferrari, its just sad lol

But damn Verstappen he's going to be lapping everybody tomorrow if he doesn't get taken out

FN-2199 08-27-2022 03:37 PM

Merc is completely off pace. Not sure what happened over the break, but Alpine is their main competitor now :lol
