Here are the pictures to make it easier

Pretty aggressive front end, not sure how I feel about the hood vents but the wide front fenders are nice. Rears don't look as wide but could be the angles.
Exhaust is interesting, looks like three tips but they're spread out under the rear bumper.

This is a serious question but could this car attract attention from the VPD for VIs with its looks and exhaust and all?

Here's the text from a pdf someone grabbed of the landing page, the pictures are the ones that have been posted already, they have little "info" buttons which obviously don't work in the PDF and I don't see anything explaining the asterisks.

No Rain Checks

Introducing the first-ever GR Corolla. Born from a passion of motorsports and infused with the DNA of Toyota Gazoo Racing, this exclusively manual-transmission, rally-built hot hatch is ready for what Mother Nature serves up. Track-tested and turbocharged with 300 hp and GR-FOUR All-Wheel-Drive (AWD), the rowdiest member of the GR family won’t need a rain check. GR Corolla is bursting onto the scene fall 2022.

GR Corolla Specs

1.6L 3-Cylinder Turbo

Powertrain

300 Horsepower

273 Lb.-Ft. Torque

6-Speed Manual Transmission

GR-FOUR AWD Drivetrain

Performance

GR Corolla sports a 1.6L turbocharged engine with 300 hp and 273 lb.-ft. of torque, paired with a 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT). Showcasing its capabilities to put power to the ground, its GR-FOUR AWD system automatically distributes power from 50/50 up to 30/70 front and rear for ultimate traction come rain or shine. And by enhancing your drive with Normal, Sport and Track Modes, this hot hatch is more than ready to rally.

Design

Outfitted with an aggressive front grille, flared fenders to accommodate a wide track, rear diffuser and functional vents for enhancing aerodynamics and cooling—there’s no need for GR Corolla to fight for attention. Inside, a GR leather-trimmed steering wheel and unique gauge cluster elevates your excitement on any track. GR Corolla Launch Edition pours on the details even further with a forged carbon-fiber roof, vented hood, matte-black 18-in. wheels* and upgraded Ultrasuede* and synthetic leather-trimmed seats.

Handling

For whatever road you take, GR Corolla’s circuit-tuned suspension and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires* won’t let harsh road conditions rain on your parade. GR Corolla Launch Edition features front and rear Torsen* limited-slip differential for a better grip while upgraded performance brakes help you dig into corners. It’s time to find your new comfort zone.

That's a weird arrangement with the exhaust.
I wonder if they are trying to do the same thing with what the CTR did.

It's less angry than the FK8R, so it should be ok?

Interesting to see more info on the ‘carbon roof on launch edition only’ as I wouldn’t want to buy it for a year or two into production

I'd prefer a second or third year car too, if they make it a regular-ish production vehicle and not just a limited run. I'd be fine losing the carbon roof but I wouldn't want to lose the torsen diffs if those are also only on the launch edition.

The extra center exhaust is definitely interesting, I'm not a huge fan of all the dead space on the front and rear bumpers but that's being super picky. I just hope those red strips are just reflectors and not lights, I hate when cars have that.

More pics:

The hood vents look like a bit of a throwback to the one on the 5th gen Alltrac/GTFour hood.

It's too much to ask for, but model specific wide doors to match the rear flares would be nice.

The Yaris GR has a CFRP roof as well, but it's vinyled over from factory. I don't see them making the investments to build a line for the CFRP roof for just launch editions and not use it again.

With the STI cancelled, this is now hands down the best hot family car on paper in this bracket. FK8R is FWD, Golf R and WRX are open front and rear, Veloster N is FWD.

So far I think it all looks great except for the ‘flare’ extension on the rear doors. Looks like it’s stuck on with double sided tape, I guess Toyota wasn’t willing to make new tooling for a door skin

Sadly the red stripes are only reflectors and to be honest, they look pretty good at night when you have lights shining on them. I've seen a few cars here in Toronto with that and it often made me think, "Wow, are those lights?" And when I drive past them, it's like, no.

Toyota - Not bad.

The STI Wagon is dead. Long live the STI Wagon.

For reals though, this thing looks like sex. AWD. Wagon. 6MT Turbo.

RE: The lower reflectors, I'd imagine and hopeful the JDM variant of some sort will have these as actual lights and they'd be a part you could likely import to retrofit.

Purely from a daily driving POV, the new electronic parking brakes are quite good - like in the new Mazdas it will automatically disengage it when you get in gear, and automatically engage when you turn the car off. But there are the earlier ones that are half ass and quite annoying to use. Hopefully it is the former if it is in fact electronic

Oh good, that's what I'm hoping for. I can't stand cars that have these beautifully designed main rear lights, and then the brake or turn signal or reverse is some dinky crap they slapped on the bottom of the bumper. Like the Mini Clubman or the Kia Niro.

Be interested in the comparison for interior dimensions. While this light rocket might eat the Golf R for a snack ... there is the day to day reality. I mean how often you going to Mission raceway to go head to head with Golf R for 0-60 times? There isn't even any pics of 2nd row passenger seating, from pics of exterior, I can only guess that it will be quite cramped. Shape of rear hatch area (angled on Corolla vs. straight back for Golf R) would hint that trunk (or boot for you Brits) space is noticeably smaller.
