Miller winning over the fanbase

Miller: Up to fans 'if they want to throw their s--- on the ice’

https://www.tsn.ca/j-t-miller-vancou...fans-1.1867384

https://twitter.com/FarhanLaljiTSN/s...07691972173825

If Miller keeps turning over the puck in the defensive zone, there should be a contest during the game called Miller's Giveaways.

Maybe something like that will convince the lazy bum to commit to playing better defence.

That quote is taken out of context to be fair........... he was getting hammered over and over with questions about losing and losing culture... the reporters were being fuckin dicks, I'm actually surprised he didn't just walk away. I would have in his shoes.

He said that in the context of that they can't focus on what the fans are doing, they need to focus on doing what it takes to win each hockey game.

I'm not impressed with Miller's game these days, but he's not the Captain and he doesn't need to play politician or take care of everyone's feelings with his answers.

I am going to watch the game tonight. I tried to watch all of it on Saturday, but as usual, fell asleep on the couch. Had it recorded too, but deleted it.

I so wanted to see the fan tantrum at the end of the game. Throwing shit on ice and heckling the players in true Vancouver fashion..................... back in 72, Team Canada lost to the Russians here in Vancouver, Our national team was booed off the ice with stuff being thrown at them. It was downright embarrassing. Anyway.............. go vancouver, go!!!

Also, betting against the VanHoover Cannots. Win me some cash, boys!

punkwax 10-24-2022 05:14 PM

I’ve turned down free tickets in the past but if someone were to offer me a pair for any home game this season it’d be impossible for me to say no. We just registered my 7 y/o for the First Shift program so he’s super pumped about hockey right now. I’d have to throw away all of my several Best Dad mugs if I did :lol

spoon.ek9 10-24-2022 08:22 PM

canucks look better tonight. hopefully they can pull it off in the third.

MG1 10-24-2022 08:24 PM

Speaking of throwing stuff onto the ice, remember this guy?

https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/canu...ideo?auto=true

Any updates?

Dude looks like he's been riding the short bus most of his life.

I read somewhere that JT Miller was harassed by fans at a local pumpkin patch. He was there with his family. What the hell is wrong with Canuck fans? It won't be long before players refuse to play here. Already have a bad reputation for being the worst fans in any league.

It's one thing to make fun of the team and shit, but to take it to another level is downright stupid.

pastarocket 10-24-2022 08:38 PM

Petey with the lazy back check. 2-1.

Wait. Make it 3-1 for Carolina.

Now I'm starting to feel sorry for the players ... not even angry anymore, just pity.

teggy604 10-24-2022 08:44 PM

Lol. That was fast. Are fans leaving the arena now?

SkinnyPupp 10-24-2022 08:46 PM

Canucks fans still better than Patriots fans LUL

Just leave, go cheer for a team that has a clue

whitev70r 10-24-2022 08:49 PM

If the Sedins dressed for a game, would it be a better outcome?

spoon.ek9 10-24-2022 09:16 PM

sigh.

The Official 2022/2023 Canucks & NHL Thread

Well, at least Miller played much better this game. Two goals.

He had a chance to get a shot off in the slot late in the third period with Demko pulled for an extra attacker.

The biggest concern for this team overall is the third period play.

Boudreau told reporters about the lack of urgency in third periods.

The team is tied 1-1 against a good team like the Hurricanes. They start out flat again in the third period.

Petey with the lazy back check on the third goal.

Where is the urgency from this team?

Mentally weak?

Probably. Sedins had a knack of controlling the game and setting the pace. They also had the ability to calm the bench down when shit like that happens. They were truly great hockey players

whitev70r 10-25-2022 08:05 AM

^ I strongly suggest that as an option .... even if they only play home games. :lol

6thGear. 10-25-2022 08:12 AM

Sedins would've also taken full responsibility in front of the cameras and not say stuff like "I can only do what I'm capable of". These situations is what makes or breaks a real captain.
Bo can either complain (although he hasn't been given much support) or pull his pants up and drag this team into battle

MG1 10-25-2022 09:48 AM

going into battle with no plans.................... pretty much sums it up.

teggy604 10-25-2022 10:00 AM

lets go for that 0-80-2 record. There is a chance we land Bedard, worst case we pick like top 5?

68style 10-25-2022 11:27 AM

Canucks definitely wouldn’t win the draft lottery lol

Honestly we will do the same thing as every year… put it together go on a winning streak and finish the season barely in or barely out of the playoffs and a mid-round pick (again)

winson604 10-25-2022 12:55 PM

Will still support the team for life but man I'm tired. Just over a decade since we last had a cup contending team we were bound to go on a low and "rebuild" or whatever you want to call it. Fine all good it happens to a lot of cup contending teams that pass their time to win. We know building a winning team you need to do a lot of right things and sometimes just get damn lucky. Drafting is obviously one of the areas that's key among many. Horvat was the first one we had, seemed ok at the time nothing spectacular. Boeser was the first real feels we had, amazing rookie year and was a finalist for the Calder. EP40m Hughes, and some other guys some of which ended up being a bust but at least there was a mixture of buzz and in some cases actual results that you were seeing. Things were on the up and up as we were all patient with the process. Yea some bonehead moves among among other things along the way but holy shit now years later I don't even know where we are to be honest. We're a capped out team that isn't even a playoff team like I have no idea what to even expect anymore and can't help that we're pretty much fucked despite having some really good pieces that some people would kill for such as a legit #1 starter at a good price. Grade A offensively minded defensemen to drive our offence in Huggie Bear and yea you can argue about the rest in terms on whether or not they're elite, untouchable or whatever i.e. EP40 etc. Fucking shit so frustrating.

We've been incredibly unlucky with our young players. Boeser looked like a 30-40 goal scorer and then injuries turned him into 20 goal scorer and finished off whatever limited skating ability he once had. Petey injured his wrist and took a full year to recover and you could argue his shot has never recovered. It's got power but his accuracy is off. Hoglander had an incredible rookie year and he can't seem to find his game since. Podz is still a big question mark...

bobbinka 10-25-2022 01:13 PM

it's only 7 games in. last season's turn around after Bruce came in gave everyone hope and showed that the players had it in them to get it done (make playoffs). asides from the 4th line, the team is basically the same this year. we even got Kuzmenko.

4 of the 7 games lost by 1, 2 of the 7 lost by 2, and only 1 game lost by more than 2. while they definitely didn't play well the first 6 games, the record could still easily have been 2-3-2 or 2-2-3 right now.

Carolina is one of the best teams in the league, and we held off 3-2 without 3 of the regular 6 defensemen, with Burroughs and Brisboise playing 15-18 minutes each. i think they played significantly better than before, despite all the missing players.

Yup... As they say, no point tanking the last few meaningless games.
Play hard, win them, end the season off on a good note and let that momentum carry through to the next season..............

And the other team that was in the 2011 finals has since only missed the playoffs twice, been in a few deep playoff runs, went to the finals 2 more times, and currently sits 1st in the league.

:okay:

Spoiler!
