I remember at one point, he was supposed to be the future goalie prospect, but the couple times he was called up, he got lit up pretty bad. I'm sure the Canucks' D was terrible, but I recall a bunch of them were just straight up softies too.

I don't follow him in AHL, but just looking at his numbers, they look kind of average too. Hopefully he gets a fresh start now, but he just simply wasn't good enough here.

No fresh start. He's on loan back to us, where he isn't being played.

Kind of sad how a relatively short series of events can ruin a player's career ... or what the public can perceive. Maybe there's been a deterioration of his performance?

Canucks big announcement was up there with the moon landing. For generations people will ask: Where were you when Rogers was awarded 10 more years of mediocre coverage?

Classic Sutter ...try and not laugh!

Good news! Hughes is back from injury as per the article below.

Hughes will play against his brother Jack tonight when the Canucks play New Jersey.

So far the Jack vs Quinn battles have NOT gone Quinn's way

Demko playing with the huge contract hangover as well?

punkwax 11-01-2022 07:25 PM

Don’t think so.. his contract was in place last season and was widely considered an absolute steal.

keifun 11-01-2022 07:27 PM

Guess its another jersey toss tonight and booing "sweet caroline"

Melanie singing anthem again................ nice! breathing in the wrong places here and there, but hey, she's cute. She can embellish as much as she wants.

EmperorIS 11-01-2022 08:32 PM

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHA MILLER SO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD

RiceIntegraRS 11-01-2022 09:23 PM

Time for Demko to take a seat on the bench.

AzNightmare 11-01-2022 10:10 PM

The goaltending structure on this team isn't a tandem 1A/1B. There's a clear veteran starter and a fresh rookie.
Demko is going to get majority of the starts unless it's a back-to-back or he plays an odd one in. He's not going to start two games in a row unless Demko's injured.

Demko hasn't been playing exceptional enough to steal any wins this season, but those goals today were not his fault.

RiceIntegraRS 11-01-2022 10:48 PM

His fault or not, hes not playing like hes the starter. I dont believe that the "clear veteran starter" should be gifted the majority of the starts just cause. You play the goalie that gives you the best chance to win and thats Martin no doubt. Martin has outplayed him by a mile and hes actually 1 year older than Demko is too.

If Martin plays, it's to wake up the team, but to say Martin's been outplaying Demko by "a mile" seems to be based off very small sample size.
Veteran and rookie isn't based on age, but experience in NHL games.

Which goal do you think was Demko's fault tonight?

Only the second goal, absolutely terrible kick out of a weak shot on net that went straight onto the NJD player's stick.

Everything else was odd man rushes and bad D awareness... or giveaways up high in the offensive zone
