Bruce gotta make that bold move and scratch Myers or OEL for a game.
Maybe Kuze comes back next game from sitting in the press box and makes magic happen.

Well as long as the fans keep paying their hard earn money to watch the Canucks, nothing will change. Why didn't they do a full rebuild? Because Aquaman wants his cake and eat it too.

whitev70r 11-14-2022 09:56 AM

So everyone and their uncle knows that Boudreau is gone after this year ... he's not getting renewed, mgmt doesn't like his style, Rutherford came out and said it. It's just a matter of whether it is sometime mid season or at the end of the season that he's gone. What do you think?
1. Fire him and get Paul Maurice (or someone that mgmt likes) now.
2. Wait till end of season ... basically put up with this for another 66 games.
3. Put Boudreau out of his misery soon and hire Babcock or Joel Q for 8 months to whip this team into men. Then hire your next coach.

Teriyaki 11-14-2022 11:35 AM

I say. Relieve Bruce of his duties. Go full tank commander and ice the team with no coach. Might as well right?

whitev70r 11-14-2022 12:04 PM

^ yah, have an interim coach till the end of the year approach.

I read an article, on the Daily Hive Offside, aka the Daily Shit, that the Canucks are on pace now with their season record even worse than last season.

In that Daily Shit article, Rob Williams compares this dark time in this team's season with the Dark Ages in the 1997-1998 season when Mark "Subway Sandwich" Messier and Keenan messed up the team so bad.

Even the Arizona Coyotes have a better record than our team now.

Don't worry, they'll turn it on towards the end of the season when they have nothing left to play for but a worse chance at a decent draft pick.

Last time we had a season like this we cleared the whole house, head office and players.

Paper bag fandom time?

bobbinka 11-14-2022 02:34 PM

I think a big part of the culture problem is that this team never had the last group to mentor and slowly pass the torch to them. Bo is the only guy in the room from when the twins were around. Boeser had one year with them.

The twins had a rough start in their careers, but they played behind the West Coast Express. Linden was still around. Kes, Burr, and Bieksa, came up together playing for the Moose working their asses off to get to the NHL. Naslund and Linden were still there for a couple years when they came in. Then they played behind the twins. Edler had Salo, Willie Mitchell, and Ohlund.

The younger guys would develop and come into their own, while the older guys were the ones relied upon to carry the team. Here, we have a group of young guys who came in and the expectation is that they would carry the team as they developed. When they're winning, it doesn't matter. Buy when they don't perform, they carry the full burden.

They should've never let Edler and Tanev go.

Basically Edmonton during the hall-eberle-rnh-yakupov era.

Really classy evening of HHOF ceremony, prob because you know 3 of the players.

Well then, seeing the speeches from the HHOF, this definitely is the case.
It really seems like the only 2 players on this damn team are playing like it matters are Bo, and Petey.

I would hate to see Bo get moved, maybe he's the only player on this damn team that actually gets it.

Times have changed, too many distractions? Rutherford saying the team didn't have a good camp is a concern.

Is this team so outta shape that there just isn't enough gas left in the tank?

So many questions that many have probably asked.

Hondaracer 11-15-2022 05:17 AM

If you listen to Spittin chiclets those guys said that Rutherford bringing up that “bad camp” thing is basically absurd and a new GM throwing basically everyone under the bus like that is crazy and wouldn’t be taken very well at any level below him

whitev70r 11-15-2022 06:14 AM

^ Toxic culture starts from the top.

teggy604 11-15-2022 09:47 AM

Lets just say what if they are really tanking on purpose? Will they actually tell the fans and media? Because if they are not tanking on purpose, then this core is done. They got so many chances to get it done, and never met expectations. The puzzle is so messed up, you don't know where to start to fix the issues.

bobbinka 11-15-2022 10:17 AM

They will never say they're tanking. They'll call it a rebuild or retool. The bigger issue is what they'll sell it as to the players and whether the players will buy it. Bo is not going to stay for a rebuild. And then we have two years to prove to Petey that we can win again, otherwise he'll want out too.

whitev70r 11-15-2022 10:54 AM

Trade Miller while you can, before his NMV clause kicks in. Then you will have $$ to sign Bo.

Bo wont re-sign with us, hes already stated publicly that he wants to play for a winner and isnt interested in another rebuild.

Cause the media and fans are just as toxic if not worse than management and the team. If were announcing were tanking then some fans will question our integrity and call the team classless for doing so. If we dont announce anything then the team gets shit on for not being honest with the fan base. You cant win in this market, on and off the ice.

When we were tanking the year Matthews was going #1, some fans, even fans on this board complained that even if were gonna lose, we still had to be exciting or have atleast a decent product on the ice......... apparently theres a certain way to lose in this city.
