The consequences of Allvin not being able to bolster our defensive depth are showing up now.

Too many odd man rushes given up to the Coilers in this game.

Coilers PP out scored our team’s PP too.

Hockey God with the hatty... Coilers still good

spoon.ek9 10-12-2022 09:00 PM

well fuck. game was over as soon as they got that 4th. i knew it.

bobbinka 10-12-2022 09:01 PM

Team collapsed after Hughes got hurt. OEL was out of synch taking his place on PP1. Then even when Hughes came back, he wasn't himself.

No finish from the offense, either.
Canucks had many chances and so many PP.

pastarocket 10-12-2022 09:06 PM

Honestly, we have no defensive depth when either Hughes or Meyers are not playing.

OEL is past his prime.

Thank you Dim Jim for giving the team a leaky defence.

I suddenly miss Newell Brown as the PP coach and the drop passes....

this kid from North Van

whitev70r 10-12-2022 09:47 PM

Good .. let's try for the Hometown kid.

SkinnyPupp 10-12-2022 10:00 PM

ONE GAME in and we're talking about tanking EleGiggle

68style 10-12-2022 11:00 PM

Chicago has gone way out of their way to make sure they’re the fuckin tank commanders this season

fsy82 10-13-2022 06:57 AM

wow we've only played one game and canucks fans are jumping ship.

68style 10-13-2022 07:32 AM

It was a pretty terrible loss being up 3-0 and then let McDavid walk around the D 3 times

whitev70r 10-13-2022 07:51 AM

So what is the report card now on the Eriksson OEL trade? Eriksson would have been finally off the books (I think) ... but Canucks now have OEL at $7.2M till 2027?

Is Eriksson playing anywhere? What if Canucks would have just sat on Eriksson's contract till the end?

I know I had a big reaction of negativity when it went down and someone criticized me for being ok with throwing away another season and just wait for most of those bad contracts we traded to Arizona to come off the books. Well we ended up not making the playoffs still lol. I didn't know who Connor Garland was at the time of the trade and he definitely softened the blow a little bit but the OEL part of the trade was always nuts for me and is still now. So report card is not good for me anyway.

68style 10-13-2022 08:33 AM

Honestly I feel like Horvat tied management’s hands on that trade a bit? He very publicly stated in the media he wouldn’t be sticking around unless changes toward winning happened and I think that message got into the heads of people… and Benning went nutso instead of just letting all that bad money expire.

I don’t think OEL is terrible, but he isn’t worth his salary… and all the totally movement proof term it comes with. Garland would stick out a lot more on a team with less top forwards, but it’s hard for him to pick up appropriate playing time with this forward group.

Hondaracer 10-13-2022 08:39 AM

If OEL can regain some form I think it won’t be so bad

I was happy when the deal happened especially after all the BS the season before about trying to get him etc. but Jim should have definitely worked out some cap retention. Even if it meant retaining some of Eriksons for a while

This is it for me, not looking at money OEL isn't too bad and on our team probably looks even better cause our overall D is pretty bunk. That said, we have to look at money and he just ain't worth it no matter how you slice it.

It's McDavid though, don't you pretty much assume he'll score at least 2 goals a game? LUL

Bieksa signs a one day contract with the Canucks so that he can retire as a former member of our team.
