What difference does it make if it’s purely superficial thought? There’s still massive differences in lifestyle and privilege based on who’s vagina you came out of… just putting lipstick on a pig to SAY that everyone is equal.

Ie: Sikh faith says to treat women equal but in practice/reality they most definitely are not treated equal, not even close.

It's culture vs religion. Just like many so called Christians many Sikhs don't don't follow the religion 100%. But many also do.

Quote:

The Sikh Gurus sought to abolish the Indian caste system that assigned value and rights to individuals based on the families they were born into. As part of the movement to end caste discrimination and promote equality among all humans, followers of Sikhism were encouraged to adopt common last names, leaving no identifiable differences between individuals from rich or poor backgrounds. Men were instructed to adopt the last name Singh, meaning lion, and women were encouraged to use Kaur, meaning princess. The use of Kaur, as opposed to adopting family names in marriage, promotes women as individuals with value and identities existing independently of their relationships with men.

Not me, I asked my boss if I could have it off to mourn the only queen I've ever known but he just laughed and said absolutely not. My wife has it off but she's in her home office working from home anyway? Weird....

I wish I had the day off but I don't mind making 1.5x pay today while regular folks make normal pay. Can't complain

whitev70r 09-19-2022 09:26 AM

Even Google is into it ... :okay:

Badhobz 09-19-2022 09:41 AM

Federally regulated industry gahahah I got it off.

CivicBlues 09-19-2022 10:06 AM

Fucking Apple calendar is taunting me with this non-holiday as well!

meme405 09-19-2022 10:07 AM

no day off, no OT, nothing. Just worked like a normal day.

Between this new stat and the truth and reconciliation day, perhaps a discussion needs to be had on how many vacations the feds can just give themselves. In no time they will basically be working 4 days a week, fucking assholes.

Federally regulated industry here and working normal pay.

Probably wanted to check if she was still Reptilian after death.

And here is our drama teacher showing a tremendous amount of situational awareness, and showing the world how much respect he -- on behalf of Canadians -- has for the passing of the Queen:

And this is a prime example of how different the Queen conveys herself to the public compared to our sorry-a$$ "leader". I can't ever remember a single time when the Queen has been caught red-handed disrespecting her country in public even though you know she obviously has her preferences. Two of the most recent examples that I can think of were the time when the Queen hosted Trump in the UK, and her supposed quarrels with Harry / Meghan. It just goes to show how serious she (and by comparison, drama teacher boy) takes her jobs as the public face of her nation.

Hondaracer 09-19-2022 02:09 PM

Lol like he actually gave two shits. Here’s there to booze and schmooze on the tax payers dime

When did it become bad to have a cool PM?

Don't like some of his policies, but seems like a great guy to hang out with lol

CivicBlues 09-19-2022 03:14 PM

LOL wut? Our PM sings Bohemian Rhapsody with a little gusto and you go apeshit? You should see what the Finnish PM was up to last month:

JDMDreams 09-19-2022 03:41 PM

I have no issues with that, he's human after all. Wasn't trump chugging bleach or horse dewormer :fulloffuck: and the conservative pp telling people to buy bitcoin to hedge against inflation, fire the bank of Canada:facepalm:

whitev70r 09-19-2022 04:54 PM

Wish I lived in Finland.

There is nothing wrong with having a cool PM, but there is a time and a place for that, and when he is out of the country on official business to mourn / pay respects / celebrate the life of the Queen, he needs to be more stately.

The Finnish PM was out partying during her own time off, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Trump is obviously the best example of what not to do / how not to act in a stately manner. And he has been cricitized left right and center for it while he was in office.

CivicBlues 09-19-2022 08:37 PM

Looks like it's night time at his hotel. So the PM isn't allowed to have any downtime at all? What is he supposed to do? Prostrate himself over her grave and sob uncontrollably like a North Korean 24/7?

Get a grip. There's plenty to hate and make fun of the guy for, this isn't one of them.

StylinRed 09-19-2022 09:22 PM

I mean he was singing one of the Queens best songs :troll:

whitev70r 09-19-2022 09:32 PM

Can someone explain the image(s) on the cloth that draped over the Queen's coffin? :fulloffuck:

StylinRed 09-19-2022 09:36 PM
