What a sad day. I'm a royal fan because of my mother, so I've always had some sense of respect for the Royal family. RIP that being said, I think some of you are right, I don't think King Charles will have the same effect on future generations. The Queen might be the last great monarch |
...Anyways, I found an answer to my question about what kinds of vehicles QE II drove during her reign as a monarch. The Queen liked to drive off road. -served as a mechanic during WW 2. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/h...es-181079.html She is the only person in Britain who doesn’t need a driver’s license, but the Queen has vast driving experience since she served as a mechanic and driver during World War II. Prior to the two Bentley state limousines which she received in 2002 to mark her Golden Jubilee, she had two Rolls-Royce Phantom V State Limousines from the early 1960s, which she used until the turn of the millennium. She was the first person to receive a luxurious Bentley Bentayga in 2017, a promise the British luxury carmaker made back in 2015. Her Majesty also seems to have a liking for Vauxhall motors, owning a Cresta PA Friary Estate, and a Cresta PC, which she drove in the late 1960s. She drove a Daimler Empress MKII and a Double Six LWB, a 1954 Lagonda 3-liter Drophead Coupe, which was Prince PhilipÂ’s car, a 1955 Rolls-Royce Phantom IV State Landaulette, of which the British luxury company made only 18 units. When the Royal Couple started having children, the Queen got a Ford Zephyr Estate as a family car. When driving around London, she liked to get behind the wheel of a Rover. The Queen owned a Rover saloon and a 1974 P5B. Most recently, the Royal Family seems to have found a liking for Jaguars, and one of the most recent cars the Queen drove was a Jaguar X-Type, which is far from being a new car. Her favorite brand, though? Surprisingly enough, Her Majesty seems to be a fan of Land Rover. She drove the Series I at the start of her reign, which was one of her first cars, in the 1950s, and the Series III in 1978, which sold in 2012 with less than 2,000 miles on the clock. What is believed to be her ultimate favorite is the Land Rover Defender 110. It was specially designed for shooting parties and it came with a 4.2-liter V8 engine and a long-wheelbase. The vehicle was auctioned in 2014, and, in the glovebox, there was a shooting map and shotgun cartridges. So, despite all her impressive wealth, when getting behind the wheel, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II liked the thrill of the off-road. |

You may think her family is better than your but it's not better than mine. |
Yes I’m sure nobody in your family ever did anything wrong and that if you ever find out they did anything wrong you’ll immediately close your family business, annex from them and declare yourself independent of any predecessors. |
I tend to agree with Manic overall that Monarchy is up there with the Catholic Church as the worst entities that have ever existed. I’d argue both make the nazis look like Boy Scouts |

Here are 3 bothers in the US related to Hitler. The had nothing to do with WW2 but all 3 have decided not to have kids so the bloodline will end. https://www.nytimes.com/2006/04/24/w...24hitlers.html She could have done so much to right the wrongs of her family but she did nothing. In this day and age royal family's should not exist. |
For what its worth this is probabaly last significnat British Monarch with any relevance. Charles will never live up to his mother. This could be beginning of the end for this Monarchy |
It’s time to cut ties with them. Everything aside I do admire her. If the crown and other media portrays her even half of the reality there’s probably never been another person in history who “stuck to her guns” as long as she did lol.. Monarchy4Life https://i.imgur.com/IZBD5MT.jpg |
Well everything you have today and the country you live in is a direct result of that evil regime… should probably just end ourselves for being a product of their decisions. If only they were more forward thinking like India always has been. |
You mean the genocide of our ancestral brothers the First Nations?!?! :hotbaby: |
There have always been evil regimes in the history of humanity. Does it mean that I have harbour hate towards all of them? Is there a personal connection between me, my family, and the English royals? Hell no. Yes, the British and their colonizing ways under their old empire fucked up a lot of countries. I am a Canadian born Chinese guy. Does it mean I have to show hate towards the British monarchy because the Brits had a direct hand in hurting China with the Opium War, and taking Hong Kong away from China as their colony? Why would I harbour hatred and ill will towards the British monarchy for historical events that are way beyond my control? If you wanna discuss about evil regimes, what about other regimes today? The British monarchy and Nazis are BOY SCOUTS compared to other governments today in terms of how much bloodshed and people are killed in the name of protecting freedoms and rights, democracy. The US government for example. Wars by proxy with the Russians now during this Russia and Ukraine War. Wars in Afghanistan. Vietnam War. The list goes on and on with the kind of shit the American government has done and is doing now. Does that mean I need to hate the American government too?? What about the Japanese government? Think about what the Japanese Imperial army did against China during WW 2. Genocide. Killing and raping of civilians. War crimes. Am I supposed to hate Japan too because of what Japan did to my ancestors?? Hate just eats up your heart. |
What timing. A punk show that happened last night in Toronto. |
https://www.vmcdn.ca/f/files/richmon...sey-tunnel.jpg She opened the George Massey tunnel back in 1951 Anyway, I'm glad she lived her life till the end. She obviously had the best medical care you can get. Monarch won't be the same without her. She assumed the reign at 25 years old so she's been a public figure for a looong time. It's no surprise it's a big deal. Not everyone gets the good end of the stick in life. There's people who have died by the millions in our lifetime and will continue to do so. Bitch about the past all you want, but geez, start doing something about now to avoid the cycle repeating. Human suffering will always be a continuous event. If you wanna be a bystander, that's fine. You're perfectly at home on the keyboard anyway. |
that old bat was pretty cool.. liked cars, worked as a mechanic during WWII had a pretty regal wave too. Nothing like old BRITISH money made off the suffering of numerous peoples around the world. Also, like most monarchs today, does absolutely fucking nothing worth a shit. A glorified figurehead. Rest in peace Liz, now get the fuck off our money. Can we get some REAL CANADIANS plz. Terry fox on the quarter makes more sense this. |
