2+ years of "Golf R is too expensive at $42k gaiz" and then spends $60k on a Corolla? :fulloffuck: |
I just saw a dealership in Penticton try to sell a 24MY Core with 8,000km for 56k... 3k less than a brand new circuit trim. No one is paying over sticker for a core trim in 2024. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...6867953855653/ |

Or you know, he got a regular Corolla LE and added a GR sticker to the steering wheel. Now it’s a 60k Corolla |
|
Remember you can't go over 85 mph:lawl: |

The GR badge is in italics isn't it? So it will look crooked on a straight wheel |
It's lens distortion from a wide angle, unless the steering wheel has an inch wider grip on the right side lol. |
ahhh good catch |
You know whats not distorted? All the grease on the left side of the steering wheel, dude must have wendys chicken strips in one hand, and phone in the other |
789kms on it and he’s already greasing it with chicken juices. |
I just got off work, $4 Dave's single special makes the drive-through crazy. |

Spoiler! Tried to take the Swedish Barge to Long Beach for those sweet beach pics on the way back from my Idaho trip... Literally could not have been more lucky. Tried digging myself out by hand, two members of the Long Beach 4X4 Rescue group just happened to be chillin' at the beach. Gone (unstuck) in 60 seconds, LOL |

Took my car to the Dyno on Saturday https://scontent.fyvr3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...AA&oe=6713CD68 https://scontent.fyvr3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...5w&oe=6713E907 |

It becomes this really fine powder sand that deep in and even the most robust awd system gets bogged down. I had the same thing happen to me with my sportwagen in 2016. Some nice guys pulled us out too. Did you get any nice beach shots ? |
~2,200km later and it's back home. Kelowna > Langford > Port Hardy and back, with lots of scenic backroads between Campbell River and Port Hardy for the Coast to Coast TSD rally. We even went to Holberg and stopped in the most remote pub on the island. I can't understate how incredibly scenic the north island is and how friendly everyone we met was, both the people involved in the rally and the locals we encountered. Only us and one other team were doing the long math, everyone else was running variations of unlimited so even if you don't care much about the TSD aspect of things it's a great way to experience the region with someone else figuring out the itinerary and support. I forgot to take many pictures since my phone was running the checkpointing app and I didn't want to risk messing with it but there's a few in the spoiler if anyone wants to see them. https://i.imgur.com/A5XOkBF.jpeg Spoiler! |
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...a1a5806c_b.jpg Beater GTI visits the surface of the moon. Highland Valley Copper - 97C Logan Lake Road. Best car choice now that the winter tire rules are in - and a good shakedown for ski season. It was actually -3 deg in this pic. Quite a contrast from +44 degrees a few summers ago. This was my 7th interior trip for 2024 - and 3rd up through Merrit. I've taken to this route over the canyon and the duffy. No traffic, really nice scenery, and the half Coquihalla is easy. It's a few more miles, but the time is the same. I can be sitting in on the porch near 70 Mile House from North Van in 5 hours if I leave before 6am. |

What's there to do? Just scenery? Any interesting stops or just gas stations? |
