I had a quick peak at tickets for Abby and it's only like $118 for front row seats. Atmosphere looked pretty spectacular for their most recent game.

whitev70r 05-12-2025 08:20 AM

Manny Malholtra for Canucks HC?

spoon.ek9 05-12-2025 09:30 AM

I like the idea of giving him a chance but I do wonder if it's a bit premature. I thought he could perhaps use another year with Abby to get more experience under his belt before taking things up with Van.

whitev70r 05-12-2025 09:57 AM

If Abby Canucks win the Calder Cup ... discussions will heat up real fast for Manny. Well, Tochett was an ex player turned coach ... Martin St. Louis in Montreal ... many ex players end up behind the bench.

Gumby 05-12-2025 10:02 AM

What about Alex Burrows - what is he up to nowadays? Like Malhotra, he would also understand the Vancouver media and fanbase...

Burrows, French speaker, is assistant coach to Martin St. Louis in Montreal ... fittingly.

Did you want to reassemble that generation of Canucks players? The Sedins are kind of consulting although I don't think they call them coaches with the AHL team. Bring Kevin Bieska back too? He has good analysis ... :lol

didn't he step down? he's a family man now

whitev70r 05-12-2025 11:33 AM

right, just looked it up, he is player development consultant with Canadiens. Stepped away from coaching.

More reason to trade Hughes and EP40. Tank hard for McKenna.

bobbinka 05-12-2025 11:41 AM

you mean, tank hard to be the worst in the league to have a 25% chance at getting the 1st overall pick? or 75% of not getting it?

68style 05-12-2025 11:53 AM

Yah there's no version of the NHL where the Canucks have the kind of luck to get a 1st overall... even when it was 50/50 with Buffalo we didn't fuckin get it. We've had a 2nd overall pick 4 times, but never ever a first overall shot.

Unlike the Devils:

The Devils have previously won the draft lottery four times. They moved from eighth to fourth (Adam Larsson) in 2011. They netted the No. 1-overall pick (previously fifth) in 2017 (Nico Hischier) and went from third to first in 2019 (Jack Hughes). The Devils gained the second-overall pick in 2022, moving from fifth (Simon Nemec).

bobbinka 05-12-2025 01:25 PM

The only thing we'd ever get awarded is a cap penalty

bobbinka 05-12-2025 02:06 PM

:lol There are 11 players in the draft with the names:

Pettersson, Pederson, Peterson, Pettersen, Peterson, Petersen

New seats at Roger’s Arena are being installed. Installation started last week. Finally, cup holders for Canucks fans haha.

It's going to look so different without the burgundy seats

Hondaracer 05-12-2025 03:28 PM

Canucks instagram has a post showing the side profile, they look like half the depth of the old ones, so hopefully a bit more leg room as well

RevYouUp 05-12-2025 03:33 PM

Maybe we’ll win a cup with these new seats

it's why they have cup holders

Kane runs over the Vegas goalie Aiden Hill after Henrique scores his second goal haha.

Vegas on the PP.

Probably cuz Canucks always hover over mediocrity. All this trading away picks and prospects to retool.

50% on Kane's aggressiveness, 50% on the Vegas player who pushed him. Doesn't matter, nothing came out of the PP.

pastarocket 05-12-2025 08:23 PM

Wow, Skinner gets a shutout! That is the best game that he played in a playoff series.

Total domination by the Oilers. Came out hitting, knocked Hill off his game and put him on tilt, and then sat on the lead in a boring third period. They did a great job of protecting Skinner this time, and helped him get the shutout, even with 3 minutes of 6 on 5

pastarocket 05-12-2025 08:27 PM

Oilers played a physical game on the Vegas defence.

Five hits on Pietrangelo. He looked worn down during the game.

Skinner's first W in this year's playoff ... surprise surprise. All this without Ekholm, pretty impressive. All the role players are stepping up, no goal from McDavid, Draisaitl, Hyman, or Bouchard and they still win 3-0. Oilers are clicking on all cylinders and playing possessed.

But had Skinner played better last game, this could have been the series winning game .. :lol.
