The Oilers can win games when trailing a game. They just cannot take so many penalties like in game 3. 15 minor penalties and some game misconducts. -some players let their frustration result into taking penalties, and players getting into fights.

-hard to have comeback wins when a team is busy killing penalties throughout a game.

Coilers need to score on the PP too. Make Florida pay when they take penalties.

A team that almost came back from 3-0 last year.....

Even if they do go down 3-1, I wouldn't count them out. That belief will always be there that a switch can be flicked because of last year.

I think some people forget Skinner's only making 2.6mil. 3 SO in the playoffs, he's playing WAY above his paygrade. When he sucks, don't forget he's not an 8mil goalie. Edmonton fans should be sending death threats to the GM. (not really, but at least blame the right guy).

SkinnyPupp 06-12-2025 03:43 PM

Oilers losing by a lot once the game got out of hand is not relevant. Florida got blasted by the Leafs too, and ended up winning the series. You win some, you lose some. You have to win 4 games; it doesn't matter what order that happens in.

They need to stay out of the box, and need to protect the front of the net better, like they did against the Knights.

omfg Skinner LOL

Can't let them have that kind of chance again

SkinnyPupp 06-12-2025 04:36 PM

Skinner is lights out so far, and that is NOT good news for Edmonton. shots shouldn't be getting anywhere near him. They should be hitting feet, bodies, etc and cleared out of the zone. That's how they got here; that's how he got his 0 goals allowed games.

SkinnyPupp 06-12-2025 04:44 PM

for 3 days "Oilers need to stay out of the box"

:fuckthatshit:

RevYouUp 06-12-2025 04:57 PM

Boneheads

68style 06-12-2025 05:00 PM

Nurse is so fucking bad

Takes the pointless trip penalty = goal

Gets a wide open chance to clear fires it right into the chest of the Panthers dman = goal

westopher 06-12-2025 05:01 PM

Oilers are spent. That's the season.
Gonna go look at pics of me holding the cup with ranford and be thankful for that I guess.

SkinnyPupp 06-12-2025 05:01 PM

GG :fuckthatshit:

68style 06-12-2025 05:04 PM

Nurse lazy ass coverage on Lundell = goal

Dude needs to hit the showers

westopher 06-12-2025 05:11 PM

It's crazy cause nurse wasn't the worst player in the nhl this season and just decided to be again over the past couple of games.

Jason00S2000 06-12-2025 05:18 PM

I called the choke yesterday.

I predict 7-2 Panthers.

SkinnyPupp 06-12-2025 05:22 PM

Pickard in. Should have started

westopher 06-12-2025 05:28 PM

I don't how you can say a team that came in 8th place in the league "chokes" when they don't win the cup. Especially when you probably couldn't skate the full length of the ice.

He just needs to insert himself into every topic on the forum with stupid thoughtless posts.

Regular season don't always tell the full story. Oilers are a strong team and built to be a legitimate cup contender. They were 1 win away from the cup last season and kept their core intact. Before this series started, I would still have considered them the favourites to win, especially with home ice advantage this time.

The cup is the expectation so I don't think anyone should be surprised they made another deep run this year. If they don't win it this time, that is a "choke."

Even as I'm typing this, I don't think this game itself is over yet. Oilers have plenty of firepower to overcome a 3 goal deficit with full 2 periods to go.

westopher 06-12-2025 05:43 PM

If the cup is the expectation people just don't understand odds. There are plenty of teams in the NHL that will never win a cup in our lifetime.
It's the goal, but being the best in the world isn't always a feasible one.

SkinnyPupp 06-12-2025 05:45 PM

Nurse with the puck behind the net, forechecker just goes in and takes it from him, McDavid has to save the day

whitev70r 06-12-2025 05:48 PM

To me 'choke' is the way that a team loses. If Oilers go down fighting every game, 1 goal difference in every game, 5 out of the 7 games goes into OT then no, they didn't choke.

BUT if Oilers lose the series like 4-1 with 3 blowout games like 5-1, 6-2, 6-1 ... then yah, very legit to say they 'choked'.

68style 06-12-2025 05:50 PM

Haha Nurse for redemption, I’m here for it

SkinnyPupp 06-12-2025 05:55 PM

TIE GAME!

Imagine if they started Pickard, it would be 3-0! Kappa

westopher 06-12-2025 05:56 PM

I'm hard now
