The Official 2024/2025 Canucks & NHL Thread

Game 4 is on Thursday. An extra day for the Coilers for practice and for the coaches to make adjustments.

Edmonton must be more disciplined. They must stay out of the penalty box in game 4.

Perry tried to get under Tkachuk’s head at the end of game 3 haha. He did the turtle move of putting his head under his arms like a turtle in its shell haha. Old man still tries to agitate opponents hahaha.

Stop the agitating and win a hockey game. Win the game, not the fights, Perry!

He really thinks that turtle boy Tkachuk is afraid of a 40 year old player? :lawl: That guy does not care about him.

Everyone on the radio etc. says Skinner gets the start

whitev70r 06-10-2025 06:45 AM

If Skinner starts, he gets a 20 mins, 1 period leash or shorter. If it goes 3-0, then it's Captain Pickard time ... engage... make it so ... earl grey tea, hot.

bobbinka 06-10-2025 12:19 PM

can you imagine if, instead of paying Nurse $9 million, they upgraded on Skinner instead.

Hondaracer 06-10-2025 12:22 PM

If they had gotten Markstrom back when he left the Canucks they’d probably have a cup right now. He would have been a bargain in hindsight

bobbinka 06-10-2025 12:40 PM

i forgot that they signed Jack Campbell 5 x $5mil in 2022, lol

Can’t believe Florida will win back to back cups especially now with the rat on their team fuckkkkkk

whitev70r 06-10-2025 01:40 PM

On another note, Abbotsford Canucks are in Calder Cup Final ... what a great experience for the farm team.

68style 06-10-2025 02:16 PM

Yah and we hired Adam Foote over Malholtra, despite Foote recently saying in the media that he doesn’t like set plays on the power play and prefers chucking it onto the net from the point.

Gonna be a long year next year boys… and the one after that… and the one after that…

Hondaracer 06-10-2025 02:53 PM

Interesting take just now from Jannik Hansen

Says Oilers manged to score 4 goals in back to back games only to get a split at home, and now you give up 6 on the road. He figures the goaltending never actually got better with Skinner, it’s just the skaters have improved and have outscored their opponents to this point

Now Florida is a matchup you have no answer for and you have Perry trying to play tough guy against euro dmen lol..

That's what I've been saying! Skinner has been "fine" but it's the play in front of him that got them through. Same with Pickard vs the Knights too

Jason00S2000 06-10-2025 04:37 PM

Feels like we're going to witness an epic meltdown...

Next game, if oilers lose, is the dagger, IMO.

Chucking it at the net from the point is next year's dump and chase. A very conducive style for skilled player hockey. Maybe we should stop hiring one-dimensional players as our coaches lol.

Elliotte Friedman
@FriedgeHNIC

Kris Knoblauch this morning:

*One potential lineup change
*Did not confirm a starting goalie
*Ryan Nugent-Hopkins again a game-time decision

Stuart Skinner's wife says their family received death threats from Edmonton Oilers fans

Lol.... "Fans"

Typical Canadian market shit, and especially dumbfuck rednecks from Alberta. That's why players don't want to play in Canadian markets. Loser fanbases, instead of just no fanbases like most of the US.

murd0c 06-12-2025 08:04 AM

after the meltdown of last game and with the Panthers being able to contain McJesus I honestly can see the exact same thing happening in tonight's game. Don't get me wrong I would love another close game but it feels good the Oilers getting blown out of the water then having temper tantrums.

Feels like an EPIC Oilers choke is coming and it is going to be bruuuuutal for Canadian hockey fans. Like a 2nd Leafs.

it's one thing to threaten the player (obviously not ok) but to also threaten the wife and kids is some real fucked up shit. who the hell threatens to murder children because of a hockey game?

Playing a strong first shift for the Oilers will be critical in game 4. Coilers need a strong start and score the first goal to play with a lead in the game.

I think that McDavid is gonna go beast-mode again just like in game 2 and score a goal, and set up other goals. It comes down to their defensive structure, staying out of the penalty box, and Skinner's play in net.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...kinner-in-net/

Jeff Skinner and Troy Stecher are playing in game 4.

Gumby 06-12-2025 11:02 AM

Nothing to be proud of, but haven't the Oilers played from behind for much of the playoffs this year? They kept coming back to win games.

whitev70r 06-12-2025 11:06 AM

This game will reveal a lot. If the Oilers fold like a cheap tent again, then it's over. If they fight back and win this, then obviously, we have a series of best of 3 and it's on.

Even if this next game is a close one like game 2 and Oilers lose in OT, I'd still have a bit of hope (last year, they won 3 in a row to take it to game 7). It's how a team loses that shows a lot. If it's in OT, oh well, shit happens, both teams are obviously playing their hearts out, can't blame anyone when it is next goal wins. But if it's another blow out ... fan base will go berserk, understandably so. It's like when Leafs lost and how they lost. Put in an effort and leave it all out there, you lose ... huge disappointment. You lose 6-1, then the fanbase will go 'blow this up'.
