Oh yeah, then you need to lift, depends how strong your base is before your cut. I think post 35/40's, it's pretty emo. Getting shreds is so hard, I've been trying my whole life and not 100% there yet lol |

I'm down to 163ish from 170 in Aug, after my Alaskan cruise. I've noticed a bit less flab, but like other have said, I'm not going to lose much more unless I start counting calories. I've just been portion controlling better, and I'm just doing two training sessions a week (up from one a week prior). |
This is in the bathroom of the gym I go to at 11am on a weekday… and the trainer told me they empty this every night… fuckin crazy how many people are geared up here https://i.imgur.com/DKo6tdP.jpeg |

I'd say closer to 1in5 for guys between 28-35. TRT Train has already started for some folks who had their 2nd kid Quote:

If you don't know where to start hit youtube. Start light and learn the form and function. Build the stabilizing muscles and ligaments before you start moving up in weight but at the same time you gotta push yourself. If you're not getting your heart rate up and feeling any soreness the next day then you didn't do enough. It's a snowball from there and momentum will just keep building, even if you don't see the changes in the mirror positive things will be happening internally. Start with compound lifts and sprinkle in isolation, over time you'll figure out what your body responds to best and you'll start building your own program or routine from there - and it will constantly evolve. Badhobz - time to switch up your routine. Your body is used to the same exercises over and over. Try new movements, change your weight, your reps, your order, etc. And when it comes back to diet: you don't put pump gas in a race car. Eat quality fuel for your body, cut the sugar, avoid heavily processed garbage, etc. You guys (and everyone in this thread) CAN achieve the results you want you just have to work harder at them. So.... how bad do you want it? |
Not that badly. I’m old, I’m fat, I’m middle aged and I don’t give a fuck. Hahahaha I don’t even know why the hell im doing all this.i initially went cuz i was bored now instead of being super fit i got this dumb bitch who keeps trying to feed me at the gym. I need a new gym…. |

While reading through this thread I see most of you are bordering on middle age which means you have a choice to make. What do you want the rest of your life to look like? If you don't use this time right now to cultivate healthy habits your future quality of life will suffer. Lift heavy shit and get sweaty as often as possible. Don't eat like an asshole and try to have some fun doing it. Rich |

I can't stand when people complain about their weight, or how they look, but literally put in zero effort to change their habits or routines. Shit pisses me off. I got a bit of a Texas weight update, I've actually lost weight down here, which I didn't expect. Came down weighing 192lbs, now I'm at 187, trying to get to the low 180s before a trip to Columbia in mid-January with the buds. Started making sure I cooked at home more often down here, all the BBQ and Tex-mex was kicking my asshole. I've been using Hello Fresh because my damn kitchen doesn't have all the tools/spices that I have back home, and I didn't feel like restocking this whole place for 3 months. Still sticking to 1.5 meals a day, and this gym I've been going to has been phenomenal, gonna miss it when I'm back at Fitness 2K next year :lol https://warhousegyms.com/courses-satx |
Hobz got the shithouse part just forgot the bricks |
How many here have young kids (under age 12) and are shredded? It's easy to say that a lot of middle aged men with young kids are weak-minded if they have a dad bod, but there's a reason why it's a meme. Sleepless nights, commuting, late nights at the office, eating fast food in between shuttling kids to activities. It takes a toll. On a personal note, I started building a modest home gym last December. Treadmill, adjustable bench, a set of adjustable dumbells, and a power tower. I haven't been disciplined enough when it comes to diet, but I can now do 5-6 full wide grip pull ups in a single set compared to when I started with zero last year. Progress is still possible, even in middle age. |
Estrogen levels in men can change during the transition to fatherhood, that is a fact. That alone has a definitive change to man's body, hence the "dad bod". |
