Im 174.0 today with just home clothes on so i think im pretty much dead even with my first weigh in. Haven’t really been snacking and overeating but somehow no change. Will have to see in a few more weeks

coneZONE 08-22-2024 12:40 PM

I got an opposite goal lol I’m 5’ 9” and 142 lbs
I need to make myself accountable to bulk up at the gym (we have a mini gym at work)
I’ve always been slim but in the last few years i got a bit of flab at the belly, no gain anywhere else lol

Sometimes I plateau but the week after, I'll end up losing 2lbs to continue my 1lb/week trend.

I'm doing real bad if anyone is feeling shit about themselves. Drinking so much beer dealing with this move and insane work schedule for the last bit of summer.
Progress isn't a straight line, that's for sure.

sonick 08-22-2024 05:27 PM

I've noticed personally that I see the impact of my efforts (or lack thereof) approx 2 weeks later.

If you work out and eat well, you'll really see the results of that 2 weeks later.

Same if you eat like shit on vacation, you'll start looking a bit soft 2 weeks later.

mikemhg 08-23-2024 10:54 AM

^All the move reason people have such trouble putting their habits and results together in a meaningful way.

We look at habits and weight similarly to the way we perceive money over time.

I find my body responds to exercise quite quickly. Despite trying to troll you guys about eating late night and drinking beer, I have noticed my body has gotten a little flabby. My plan this summer was to pick up my son from daycare with my bike as much as possible to try and keep burning extra calories. He hasn't wanted me to pick up until this week where I picked him up 3 times. It's a 13min ride one way with a combination of up and down hill sections and I try my best to keep the speed up.

After 3 days of riding this week, it seem to help some of my flab, which seems like like water weight than anything.

I should get myself on a scale though.

mikemhg 08-23-2024 12:26 PM

How do you pickup your son on your bike?

You put him in the damn front basket like ET?

Posted this in the parental thread before, but worth every fucking penny. He LOVES the ride. He's just about to grow out of it, maybe I can squeeze out another season next year if I lift my seat up a little more.

Feels like this rings true for some of us in here.

Ya should have just carried him in your balls instead of manifesting him into reality.

mikemhg 08-24-2024 10:42 AM

It's really all about routine. If you do a small amount daily like that in your routine. It's hard to become a bag of shit. The positive and the negatives extrapolated over just a few months can cause so much variation.

While you guys are pursuing physical excellence. I’ve decided in my infinite wisdom to try vending machine cake

https://i.postimg.cc/jqPbJkX5/IMG-1606.jpg

I’m at the Montreal airport waiting for a ride to Atlanta and I saw this interesting contraption. I paid 15 dollars for this slice of cake and I instantly threw it in the garbage. Nastiest stuff I’ve ever eaten. It’s like eating a can of frosting.

Somebody should put up warning stickers on this crap. Or at least throw caution tape around it.

It’s deadly bad

68style 08-26-2024 03:32 PM

Isn't that the Cake Boss guy on the screen?!

Thanks for being the guinea pig... cake should not come from a vending machine.
