Evofires a fucking stick. I wouldn’t listen to a skinny guy about cooking yo.

I’m the fattest fuck here! And I eat out like 95% of my meals so y’all listen to me.

red kryptonite 09-11-2024 12:00 AM

shouldn't we listen to the skinny guy in the weight-loss accountability thread lol

sonick 09-11-2024 05:46 AM

Sounds like I should go on a cruise for my bulk. Just go between the gym and the dining room all day every day, with an afternoon nap on the deck thrown in between.

I thought exactly this, what a fantastic bulk option lol maybe even economically viable too!

A repositioning cruise might be a good choice for this since there typically aren't that many meaningful stops and more sea days on repo sailings. They are cheaper too.

Do cruise ships have squat racks :considered:

68style 09-11-2024 07:37 AM

Make your own! Just get a pole and have dark's kids hang off either end of it hahaha

By the sounds of it if I wanna hit a PR I should be squatting Dark over my shoulders instead.

Damn you guys are hardcore...

I grew up drinking soup everyday too, but there is just too much prep work involved, not to mention all the fat skimming you gotta do if you don't want the pot of soup to be covered in layer of oil.

Think about your caloric intake over the week and include everything on the days you drink. People rarely go off the rails with drinking alone and a "good" diet mon-fri can be negated by two days of 500-1000 extra cals two days in a row on the weekend.

interesting, i always looked at in/out daily, and assumed if i'm good 5 days it'll outweight the 2 bad, i guess if i look at it weekly and sum it all that may work diff...

guess i'll have to ease up on beers and go with vodka sodas like the kids these days do :lol

In general terms; to loose 1 pound of bodyweight you typically have to be in a caloric deficit of 3,500 cals/week. That means ~500cal/day. If you're in a slight a calorie deficit during the week + you overeat during the weekend you will maintain your same weight or it will fluctuate but never lower.

My girlfriend is a nutritionist and has clients who drink on the weekend, but those calories are accounted for in their meal plans. They are choosing to the drink those calories and reduce food intake to balance on those days.

Calories in - Calories Out

Btw if any of you are interested I could pass you her contact info.

There's a shortcut way that I do, it's two step but less tedious than trying to scoop out of the pot with a spoon.

Use a ladle to scoop the top. Don't worry about getting the soup. Put it in a narrow container. Now the oil collects in a thick layer on top since it's much narrower than the pot. Scoop oil out and throw the soup back in the pot.

You don't want to remove every single drop of oil anyways. The oil contains a lot of the fragrant flavours. Chicken soup without a little bit of oil isn't that great.

Being skinny is easy.

Retaining muscle while losing fat off is hard.

Otherwise you can eat at a calorie deficit consisting of beer + chips and lose weight.

Hondaracer 09-11-2024 05:15 PM

Well that’s why most alcoholics are skinny af

Even if you’re pounding back 30 beers a day and getting all those calories you’re getting zero nurtional value otherwise

Hey did your parents use an oil filter? Like a container with an oil separator. My parents had one from HK 30 years ago LOL, but it's since broke.

Badhobz 09-12-2024 04:37 AM

Don’t but Fram filters in Chinese soups man. At least get a Mann filter

Yeah we did, still have it stashed somewhere.

unit 09-12-2024 07:17 AM

weighed myself this morning, 168.2lbs, so i've lost about 5lbs.
all i did was stop the late night snacking entirely and tried not to overeat past the point when i was full.
otherwise almost no exercise except maybe a once a week or so bike ride or hike, no gym.
honestly im quite surprised at how quick that was. 5lbs to go

Badhobz 09-12-2024 07:29 AM

I’m 250lb this morning. So roughly 20-30lb away from my goal weight.

Ugh so far but whatever. Muscles are heavy and I’m bulking up even though I don’t need to necessarily get bigger.

My mom religiously used these for a year or two, and I hated it bcos at least with the one we had, flow was extra, extra slow, esp when there are still some ingridients in the soup. FailFish

westopher 09-12-2024 11:38 AM

Jesus fucking Christ guys it takes like 45 seconds to skim a stock with a ladle.

Mikoyan 09-12-2024 11:54 AM

We always skimmed off what we could, consumed some. Put the rest in the fridge. The next day take a spoon and scoop off the solidified fat.

underscore 09-12-2024 03:45 PM

182.4 so basically no change, which is probably okay considering the last 3 weeks have been pure stress and I've been cheating with the snacks way too much.
